That's what I'm thinking. As Cowboys fans a lot of us think the team is better than it is.

We lost Cooper, and Gallup will probably be out half the season. Zeke behind our aging OL is a big question mark. I don't know what makes people think our offense this year is any better than most teams.

I guess our defense is going to have to carry this team.

First team to ever go 17-0 in a regular season. Lock it in.

A few things stand out to me:

1) Not sure Mike would have chosen this schedule if he could have picked the order.
2) We play Eagles on Christmas Eve, this is the 3rd of 3 consecutive road games for them
3) 5 of last 7 games of season for Giants are against divisional opponents
4) 5 games in 26 days in December
5) MNF AND SNF against divisional opponents, backs ups theory division will be close

Cincy went to the Super Bowl. I see no reason to dismiss them as an opponent. The Rams won the Super Bowl. We got eliminated in the first round. I'm all for being rah-rah, but until we prove that we are better than that, I'm not expecting victories against teams that did better than us.
That's exactly how I see it! Bengals knocked KC out of the playoffs and Dallas offense lays an egg against them when the defense showed up to play.

I thought you play a single non-conference division. It looks like we’re playing all but Tennessee in the AFC South plus Cincy from the AFC North. When did they change things and what’s the new structure?

I hate when the season opener is a night game. I want that afternoon game. Hate the wait!

Really good schedule. There shall be no inflated egos and false hope to start the season.

We will have to earn it early or crawl out of a hole.

This is exactly what these guys need. They took their foot off the gas last year and it was catastrophic.

I don't think it's going to be very fun going against Tampa and Cinci with Lamb, Washington, Brown, and Tolbert as our WRs.

Right. The evidence is not in favor of our team right now. A lot can change between now and then, but I can't say what has changed so far has gone in our favor. The Bengals spent big to try to fix their offensive line with Cappa, Collins and Karras while we cut Collins and let Williams walk. It's hard to say that we got better at receiver right now since we essentially swapped Cooper and Wilson for Washington and Tolbert. Same at defensive end where we swapped Gregory for Fowler and Williams.

It's hard to name one position right now where we know that we are better than last year. I think Tyler Smith will be better than Connor Williams, but it's all prospective right now.

We get our division, plus Hou, Jax, Det, Chi....possibly the 4 worst teams.

I know there are plenty of tough games too (luckily, many at home), but that's a pretty good head start.

Dec. 29 at Tennessee Titans (TNF)
dallas plays all the afc south div.
Cin is a SOS game So is LA and TB those are the 3 odd games that depend on your record the previous season.
Used to be 2 games, but with 17 game season there are 3 now.

What the hell is easy about that schedule?

yeah I’m guessing only 7-9 wins on there IF and only IF we dominate the division again but the likelihood of going undefeated in the division 2 years in a row is small

My bad. I missed that one. So I guess they added another non-conference game with the 17th game.

I'm fine with this.
Hit them with the Real and then give them games to figure out what went wrong and solidify.

Of course, I'm giving the coaching staff more undeserved credit in thinking they can figure stuff out, but I'm a hopeful guy!

At home against the best to start the season 0-2 would be a bummer to use a phrase from the Drew Pearson Hollywood Henderson era . 2-0 to start the year …Jerry will start selling folding chairs for playoff games ….
