I think it may be Tolbert. Especially with Gallup likely to miss games early in the season, he will get a ton of opportunities. Even when Gallup returns, Tolbert will still get targets.

I hope Tyler Smith hits the ground running at guard though. The OL needs some juice for sure!

Smith, but I think Williams, Tolbert and Ferguson will be heavy contributors too.

The biggest impact will come from Tyler Smith. But the most notable impact will come from Jake Ferguson. A tightend's production is more memorable than an offensive guards. Plus I expect Shultz to miss a couple of games, just because he got tagged. Isn't that what tagged players do in big D...miss games?

Hopefully it's Ridgeway but If I had to guess I'd say it's a toss up between Smith and Williams.

Smith > Tolbert > Williams > Garibay > Ferguson > Ridgeway

Although Ferguson could be higher on that list, but this is what I think at this point.

I might go:

Smith > Tolbert > Garibay > Ferguson > Williams > Ridgeway

I feel like Sam Williams has a lot of competition with Armstrong and Fowler Jnr which limits his likely impact. I also agree Ferguson is the dark horse. Jarwin played around 50% of snaps when healthy and I think Ferguson is the natural successor. I'm also hoping Clarke can take LVE's spot in December.

Tolbert. Gallup is out for a part of the season. And we don't seem interested in signing any receivers on the market. Correction: proven receivers. See Jarvis Landry.

How do you compare?

The better an O-lineman does, the less you hear about him. D-linemen have a flawed method of evaluation that puts too much emphasis on sacks. For WR's, it's purely a numbers game.

Lets say Tolbert gets 750 yards in receptions plus a half dozen TD's.

Williams gets 6 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Smith only gets three penalties all year, allows two sacks and the RB's average yards per carry is 4.8, ranked in the top five.

Ferguson practically splits time with Schultz, gets 500 yards in receptions and is cited for being an excellent blocker.

DaRon Bland returns two punts for a TD.

Which one would you choose?

However, in the spirit of the question I will go with Tolbert who will ball out early in the season with Gallup still recovering. Even when Gallup comes back Tolbert will continue to shine in both the slot and outside. I'm not saying a 1000 yarder or Pro Bowl but he will certainly contribute and make a difference.

Garibay will probably score the most points, so his impact will likely be the easiest to measure. Offensive linemen usually have a good year when their impact is least noticed, so Smith's name might be called on a few key blocks, but generally if it's called, that won't be a good thing. Tolbert should be expected to put up OK numbers, but not No. 2 or No. 1 receiver numbers yet. If Williams can get a bunch of sacks, he'd take the honor, but it's unusual for a rookie to have a double-digit-sack season.

So I think Garibay has the best chance as a rookie. Zuerlein scored 129 points last year. Garibay could end up with more than that if he's any good.
