That clears that up (lol).......so the only way this gets a new owner is he ( and probably Stephen too ) is 6 ft under.

Amazing, especially considering that when Forbes did its annual valuation of franchises this year, the Broncos were 10th. So if the Broncos are 10th and worth $4.5 billion, what are the rolling-in-dough Cowboys worth? Forbes says $6.5 billion. The smartest business consultant in NFL circles, Marc Ganis, told me he thinks Jones would get $8 billion or $8.5 billion if he tried to sell. Jones, when I asked him, said:

“Ten up.”

Asked to clarify, he said, “more than $10 billion.”

“But let me make this very clear,” Jones said. “I’ll say it definitively. I will never do it. I will never sell the Cowboys. Ever.”

He won't live forever either. There's no telling how things play out down the road. Truth be told I'd rather 20 more years of Jerry then turning it over to Steve. Whatever Jerry is, his son appears to be worse.

That's what I was going to say. I don't like predicting, forecasting or waiting for someone's death, even Jerry's. But even if that were to happen, the Dallas Cowboys are staying in his family. His daughter or his grandsons or granddaughters will inherit the team.

Fans might as well face it: they're stuck with the Joneses.
Yea but there is no guarantee the heirs will run football operations in the same egoistical , flamboyant, self serving way.

Remember this was his dream to be a celebrity football guy. We can retain hope they will operate in more of the manner that other owners have hiring football experts who they hold accountable.

JJ sell the dam team to Jimmy Johnson, he'll turn thing around and we'll all get to hear that yell " HOW BOUT THOSE COWBOYS!"

You know the history if the team started playing like the Giants the last 4 seasons. Jerry would hire a Payton type coach and give him full control until the team turns around then will fire him. Similar to Parcells and Johnson.
Exactly right, but he was 60 when he hired Bilpursails.

He is now 80. That act can't happen again.

Jerry may think he is better and smarter than everyone, but I'm all in that he eventually loses to God and/or Father Time lol.

When Jerry speaks I hear mouth farts. He is a blowhard who delusionally thinks he knows football better than the next guy. Its cringeworthy when he talks.

I know right, he reminds me of a manager we had at the grocery store some 40 years ago. A Vietnam Vet who if asked a question would ramble on for 10 minutes all without answering the question. Only difference is this guy knew the grocery business, Jerry doesn't know football.

No, I said Jethro’s induction wasn’t football related. Meaning not his football expertise.

In a later post I said most contributor inductions were for owners, front office and commissioners.

Front office would include GM’s and Personnel Directors like Tex and Gil which were football related.

Jethro’s induction are generally credited to his brilliance in revolutionary revenue streams not just his hiring of Jimmy which of course that success with Jimmy certainly helped his induction.
I can't stand Jerry Jones with a passion, but he deserves to be in the league HOF for his "contributions"....namely making all of the other owners very rich men, and being instrumental in guiding the league into the next level.

I thought it was it a little premature, but now we know that PR man Rich Dalrymple made an extra push to get him in soon, and now we know why.

Given what's starting to trickle out, I can see why Jerry makes statements like, "I'm running out of time."

As an NFL GM, a Hall of Famer? That's funny.

I'm not sure why anyone confuses the two, especially Cowboys fans.

I can put up 9 billion if a personal check is OK.....and my family members can run the team.
Personal check is fine. I have the other 1B, so we can entice him I will throw in another 500M....

and we can discuss which family members will do what....my sister is a CPA/Accountant, so we can let her manage the cap and decide which players we should get based on cap value. how does that sound...

The problem is the Cowboys are a good team. This defense is about to go to another level and the offense is already top 10. Jerry won’t give up the reigns to anyone. I actually think he is more dug in like a tick in a dog’s ear.

I see a lot of ill-will toward the Jones boys in this thread and it's so disappointing. :(
