It's apparent don't root for the Cowboys, so who do you root for?
Why's that apparent?

Would you have faith taking your car that has broken down for 26 straight years on vacation?

You would never trust anything else in your life that has failed you for 26 straight years. Why the Cowboys? What have they done to earn such trust from you? Why does it bother you that others have lost trust and will gladly stop being doom and gloom when they stop being right? I used to trust them the way you do, but 1996 was a long time ago and they've lost that trust. It's on them to earn it back.

We'll have a good idea on whether or not this team is a Superbowl contender by Week 5.

Cowboys play the Bengals week 2 and the reigning Superbowl Champions Week 5.

Yes, these games are early in the season and key players may be missing, but these games should give us a better idea on how if Dallas has a chance at a Superbowl.

:starspin:

We won’t have a good idea if the Cowboys are a Super Bowl contender until December. They could play lights out from September to November but it’s not going to matter if they sputter out by December which has been a common theme with the Cowboys. They looked like they could beat anyone the first seven weeks of last season and we also what happened. It’s not how you start it’s how you finish. We start running out of gas the last half of the season.

Maybe.

We could be 5-0 after 5 weeks and I'd expect this team to be one and done in the playoffs.
I understand the heartache and annual disappointment, but I try and start off every new season with some optimism, but I understand completely.
I just have gotten to the point were I will not allow the emotional attachment to derail me.
This team can only elevate my enthusiasm, Ive seen the bottom of the well for far too long.

Oh, make no mistake, the failures of this team do not affect my happiness in life.

I definitely think we can win the division if we don't do anything ridiculous. Once in the playoffs, who knows? The playoffs are unpredictable.

The Cowboys lone playoff game this past season was absolutely predictable. Literally no one was predicting Dallas to win that game and that's the way it ended up.

Me neither. I will admit there was a time when I would get a little upset after a loss, but that ended many years ago. These days there are far more important things I focus on, my grand daughter being first and foremost.

I don't believe they'll win a SB this year. But this staff seems to be trying to build a big and physical team. That is if Jerry will let them. And I applaud their efforts. But the East is weak and there are only two real contenders in our way... The Rams and the Bucs. The Packers have taken a step back and the Cardinals are anybody's guess.

I feel the same way you feel, but I realized every year brings a new opportunity. So I take the wait and see approach instead of the doom and gloom approach.

I take the "wait and see" approach when it comes to players.

When it comes to the team as a whole I'm doom and gloom until given a reason not to be.

Well, hopefully we won't commit the amount of penalties we committed this time around.

Agreed, especially with this defence. I think if that side of the ball gets nastier, the oline gets nastier, and we significantly cut down on the penalties, this team has the potential to compete for a SB in the next few seasons. I think we will win a SB with Parsons.

IMO it takes a lot longer than 5 weeks to know what a team is or isn’t. Look at the Tampa Bay team that won the SB in 2020. After 12 weeks, they were 7-5. They didn’t even win their division. They got hot at the right time. Last year the rams looked unbeatable early then looked very beatable until the playoffs.

The bottom line is it takes an entire season to forge a team. I think one reason the Cowboys have been so mentally soft is they start believing they’re great too early.

Anyone thinks this is a Super Bowl team is dumber than a ******** billy goat with a traumatic brain injury.
Anyone who thinks this is a Super Bowl sends Kenneth Copeland love offerings to touch their TV screens to get healed.
