Don't get me wrong
I think the Cowboys are the better team.
I just think the margin has shrunk some since last year.

I agree. I highly doubt we go 6-0 again in the division. And if the Eagles beat us, it will be due to a great day running. No way that team is winning through the air.

I would change #3 and 4. I think the Cowboys were the 4th or 5th best in the NFC last year and haven't really seen them improve that team.
You haven't seen them improve the Cowboys from last year because you don't want to wait until they've finished training camp and the preseason before you judge them. You'd rather just spew your premature pessimism.

He's an older guy. They say older guys spew prematurely quite often.

If I keep saying good morning, I'll get there one day.

The 49ers have 2 QBs on their roster right now: one who is still not able to throw due to surgery and will likely get injured again this year and another who they traded up to get but are somehow still hesitant to trust him over the guy who is always injured. That is a big problem for a Super Bowl push.
Yet they'll find a way to win 10 games and a couple playoff games.

They will certainly make the playoffs but whether they win in the playoffs or not entirely comes down to the draw they get. If they draw the Cowboys of course they win and they always seem to matchup well with the Packers but otherwise I would not pick them to beat any of the other likely NFC playoff teams.

When the Cowboys were healthy that first half of the year you could argue they were either 1 or 2. So the question remains, which team are we going to see more of the first half or 2nd half?

As far as improving all the young guys drafted over the last 2 or 3 years should all be improved. Thats how you get better. Dak healthy in the offseason, that's how you get better. The defense in the 2nd year with Quinn, thats how you get better. I have no doubt that Tyler Smith will be an upgrade over Connor Williams. Even if its not from the first game.

You could make a strong case that they took a step back with the loss of Randy and Cooper.

Do you think the defense will be better or worse this year?

We added Ridgeway, Sam Williams, Dante Fowler and lost Gregory. To me, thats an improvement.

Then you have all the young guys drafted on the defensive side over the last 2 years that should be improved. Osa, Gallimore, Parsons, Diggs, Joseph, Thomas, Cox, Bohanna, Goldston.

Then we have all these guys with Quinn for the 2nd season understanding the defense better and Quinn understanding his personnel.

"Wait until Free Agency"

"Wait until the draft"

"Wait until training camp"

"Wait until Week 1"

"Wait until Week 8"

And so on and so forth. Rinse and repeat. Year after year.

When it comes to the Cowboys the pessimist are right while the optimist is left looking foolish for hyping up a failure every year. Us "pessimist" when it comes to the Cowboys would love nothing more than to be turned into an optimist, but we're not easy, and 1996 was a long time ago, so you have to earn it from us because, call me crazy now, but after 26 years of failure we don't exactly trust this team anymore.

Don't let your heart override your brain. It's not worth it, friend.

we are fans we have no control over a damn thing, we have 1 thing we can do and that is pull for the team and back them. I get being pessimistic to an extent but coming here daily slamming the team and anything they do or say is a bit much. I get the wait and see mentality that some have, for others it is not wait and see it is attack the Cowboys at every turn.

I wish the predictive powers would rank them really low, like 8 or 10. Seems like the Cowboys always do better when everyone expects them to do bad. You never know how the season is going to play out. Usually, it's the opposite of what you think will happen.....usually.

You as a fan have 100% control over whether or not you want to look foolish or not.

So, let's not use that as an excuse for horribly biased takes while getting all butthurt at anybody that doesn't have this team winning the Super Bowl.

I cannot, under good faith, just sit back and allow delusion to prosper. It's not good for the poster or the people reading it. We mustn't not feed into it as it's not healthy.
