That's how jerry thinks...not that bad news is bad for the team, its a distraction, its not going to lead to championship....but bad news is good for business..... and we wonder

"....The foibles, the soap opera, the issues,” Jones said. “They create interest. Add in the Senior Bowl, the Combine, free agency, the draft, training camp, we always got something going. People follow us year ‘round. The owner every now and then gets in the paper. It just adds to the interest, all of it. People love that.”

Jerry could have lead the world of reality TV even if he never purchased the Dallas Cowboys.

And by most business owners
yes, true, but one has to ask what's the mission of the business? what are the priorities? is it growing his pockets? or is it winning championships? the two aren't necessarily the same..in this case, business is higher priority than Championships and championships will get sacrificed in favor of business

no it will not. Jerry started pandering not to the ardent core fans, but to the fringe fans to expand his market, grow the piece of pie. they care more about the news, the entertainment than team winning championship. that's where most of his money comes from and that's why he continues doing it his way
Yep.....sounds about right to me.....forgive me, but I'm still a fan.

AND THIS IS THE ISSUE !!!

Instead of focusing and keeping the focus on football, it's about entertainment, publicity ect ect ect.

Bitcoin, Stadium artwork, murals, sponserships, endorsements, ect.

I remember how hot Jimmy got when Jerry brought some Saudi Prince down to the sideline at the end of a game.

Jimmy understood how important staying laser focused on the Primary objective was.

This is totally lost on Jerry.
Jimmy was a coach with a salary.....owners think differently...

oh, so am I. I have come to terms that we are not going to win a championship under Jerry again and now, even when Jerry will be gone, stephen will be exactly the same. or even worse. if we ever do, it will be Lottery luck...so I am not counting on it....we have become the cubs. 99 year drought

with jerry it absolutely is. now, he also knows a championship will do a lot of good for the business. but championship requires long term commitment/investments that may impact short term profits and he and stephen aren't willing to do that, they are trying to maximize short term and long term at the same time while minimizing investment

This is news to anyone? At least the players look to be trending the right direction, and I like the development with the trenches.

What a very dumb statement. Bad news is always bad for business. Just ask the millions of businesses that had to fold shop during the pandemic.

I was listening to the radio about this topic. An X Cowboy was speaking, he played back when Parcells was coach. Sorry, I didn't catch his name. He was talking about teams and how high they prioritize winning. He said with the Cowboys it's probably a 50/50 split between winning and brand.

He also said he played for 5 teams, and the Cowboys were the only team that charged their players for lunch. When he was cut he took his helmet with him. Cowboys were the only team to charge him for the helmet.

Spoken like a true salesman and owner, not a GM. Jerry is a great salesman. He’s a bad GM. The GMs winning championships like having less distractions.

Here’s a hard truth Jerry has never grasped: Winning championships is the greatest sales pitch in sports.

Things aren’t going to change regardless what we do but it sure feels better calling it out than suking it up.

The revenue enables our dysfunctional ownership to continue his egotistical, selfish ways to embolden his passion to be celebrity football guy without financial hardships.

This is why he wanted the new stadium, sued the league for stadium rights and all the revolutionary revenue streams he’s help create and maximize so the lack of success on the field wouldn’t jeopardize success off the field.

And you know what is crazy? Jerry is the only one I have ever heard utter these words.
I remember Diamond Dallas Page saying that exact philosophy on WCW decades ago.
So... That stuff has been uttered.
By professional entertainers.

Fans confuse bad news with negative press . Negative press isn’t necessarily bad news. Cowboys are a perfect example.
