You have been fooled for 26 straight years and you're rearing up for 27, but I'm not a fan because I'd rather they prove me wrong instead of blindly buying in every year like you do? I was fooled for about the first 10 years after 1996, but I wised up to it, and now I'm in a "prove me wrong" state of mind when it comes to the Cowboys.

You really think that makes you a better fan somehow don't ya? It only makes you look incredibly foolish when it comes to football knowledge, but Jerry appreciates the delusion from you and others like you. As long as you guys are around he has no reason to build anything more than a team that wins the NFC East every few years. Ya'll eat that up every time.

You can rant and rave and cry all day every day, and the ONLY thing it does is make you miserable. It changes nothing. You think Jerry cares what YOU think? Hell, NO ONE cares what you think except you. Enjoy your misery.

Jerry doesn't care what I think, but seeing as how you respond to almost all my posts show that you clearly care about what I think.

You haven't seen them improve the Cowboys from last year because you don't want to wait until they've finished training camp and the preseason before you judge them. You'd rather just spew your premature pessimism.
Let me see here, when was this thread posted? And when will training camp and the preseason be finished? Now, how many months between now and then? The state of the team as of now is what this is about.

No, at this very time, I do not see a team that improved in talent from the previous season and as I said, I also do not see any other team in the NFC that improved either. Some teams had an interesting draft but the impact of that will have to wait until after training camp and the preseason are finished and well into the season.

If you think this team improved, then that is cock-eyed optimism. If you think it will be improved by the time training camp and the preseason are finished, that is blind faith optimism and not backed by history with this brain trust.

And you do realize that since optimism and pessimism are feelings based on the future, premature pessimism does not exist?

I would change #3 and 4. I think the Cowboys were the 4th or 5th best in the NFC last year and haven't really seen them improve that team.
Yeah, but Brady's old. He's over the hill

I wonder how many people said that a few years back.

As long as he can just stand back there and sling it, he is going to continue to be effective. He was smart, he went to the best fit for him after leaving NE and went back to the same fit after unretiring. He was in the MVP conversation through much of the season.

40 day retirement - just long enough to get the gold watch. I guess he found he hadn't been contributing enough to his 401K and he needed to work a few more years.

Hahahaha wrong! They couldnt beat the Cardinals or the 49ers. Thier not better than the Bucs. Typical of the Cowboys being over rated!

The Packers couldn't beat the 49ers either, and the Rams lost to the 49ers twice during the regular season before narrowly beating them in the NFC Championship game and going on to win the Super Bowl

What does going for it mean? Signing a bunch of over priced FA's and getting into salary cap hell?

Baby steps. Happy to see them at least move on from these over priced veterans and not do anything stupid. Its not like they have a true contender.

There are more than a few teams who aren't afraid to go all in. The Rams aren't crying about over priced FAs, even Philly is making moves.

I'm not saying you blow money everywhere, but we had opportunities to improve.

Who says we didnt improve in areas? Thats you talking.

Rams have no high picks the last two years so its the ONLY way they can improve. They are screwed with young talent and no way to change that in the near future.

Yep it worked. Good for them. Personally I think they had some good luck, but that team was great. They will be even better with Akers back this year.

Cowboys arent on that level.

No, but they could be. A good draft and the right FAs and we'd be right there. Im all for building through the draft. Unfortunately it has only taken us so far. They preach about responsible cap management and constantly blow deals on our own. At this point there isn't any difference between over spending on our own or some else's FAs.

Maybe they have a plan going forward. Time will tell, but I lack faith in this FO to make the necessary moves which get us over the top.

Ps. I do think/hope we've improved in some areas. I just don't believe it's enough. Hope I'm wrong.

How about the Cardinals and San Francisco? Two teams that beat the Cowboys year.

I wish that the Cowboys are 3rd but in reality they should be 4th or 5th.

If our FO would have gone all in on FA market and get some missing players, than I would understand. But they really wasn't any significant upgrade. While the other teams like the Packers, Rams and Eagles got better. So much for back to back NFC East title.

As they should. They stunk the entire season & got hot at the right time. You REALLY think the young kid at center, Trey Lance, will tare it up in his rookie season?! Nada....
The 49ers don't need great QB play to win games.
