It’s a passing league and you have to throw more than you run if you want to score enough points. The play of your defense will dictate a lot. If you can’t keep your opponent out of the end zone you’re going to have to throw more. The rules continue to open up the passing game.

The league is set up to win with passing. The rules just favor the passing game so much that your handicap is exponential if your QB sucks because you are unable to take advantage of these rules while the other teams can. It's like handing a cheat sheet to a blind man.

An offense gets about 65 plays a game, so I'd say 29-36.

I'd like us to run the ball close to 29 times a game. With Zeke getting 17 carries and Pollard 12.
A stat was posted on this very site last September that said since Dak became the Cowboys QB they are 25-0 when we run it more than we pass it. I don't have an updated number since then.

Passing it 36 times and running it 29 will only lead to failure with Dak.

I would say 60/40 pass/run but I also know that different opponents strength and weakness are different. You will not go up against the Rams and run it 40 to 50% of the time and win, their run defense is stout and banging you head against the wall. I will say overall over the course of a season I would like to see a 60/40 pass/run

Most likely to be 60% passing as it was last year.

The Eagles led the league in rushing and still only had 52% run.

Niners were basically 50/50.

The day of teams like the 90's Cowboys going at a 60% run clip are long gone. It is the QB's game today and you can bet if PHL and SF do not have their guy by the end of this season, they're going shopping. Cannot play the game without that guy.

On top of this, you have Booger paying his QB 40M and that's not to hand the ball off to 15M.

The Cowboys have to have a run game to keep the D's honest and be able to run the ball when they have to but the success of this season is in the hands of the QB and his receivers.

The running it more then we throw it could be because we had the lead in those games. So the 29-36 split would change if we had the lead.

It could also be the reason for those leads too and not having to play catch up so much because we decided to start the game by passing it more than running it.

25-0 as of Sept 2021 don't lie is all I'm saying.
