The answer is a resounding NNNOOO !!!
They lose 2 starters off their Oline and draft a project Olineman in the 1st round.
They sign no Olinemen in free agency.
They get a Major FAIL.
I don't understand their inaction.
The planets are gonna have to align for even a chance at success:
1.The first rounder can start day one and play well.
2. Steele can be a quality right tackle.
3. Smith will miss no games. Something he has not done in several seasons.
4. No other Olinemen will get injured or miss games.
We have zero quality reserves at this time if they do.
So no, the broken run game probably is not fixed, or at least not fixed for the entire season
as Smith could go down at any moment.
You make no sense.

They lost two starters off of the line that was a penalty machine (those two especially) and couldn't move people in the run game. They replace them with bigger, younger, hungrier, and more physical guys and you think it is a major FAIL?

1. The first rounder will most likely start and can be productive. If not, i don't see a huge drop, or any drop when you factor in penalties, to McGovern.
2. Steele IS a quality right tackle that outplayed Collins last year when he played RT. Any difference in grading from the bastion of truth PFF was bc he played LT a couple of games last year, where he also was above average at.
3. Agreed, this is always a concern.
4. They have young depth in Farniak, Ball, and McGovern that they are high on. Those guys, with the picks, give us a lot to be positive about IMO.

Zeke deserves a bonus and ours and your love.
A 4.2 ypc deserves a bonus.
Why you want to take the spoon out of his mouth?
Don't you think Zeke deserves a bonus??? Huh?
After all, he has, as your tear-stained great post indicated, Zeke hath "given his body and brains for us since day 1."
Where else do you see such dedication? Where low-pants rider?

A bonus for heart and brains Zeke or no?

Answer or I will ask your eldest child, when he gets out, to slap you!
Millions of years of evolution.... perhaps thousands of years of divine inspiration and THIS guy...is what we have to show for it.

Evolution has its flaws.

Still too many unknowns. Will Smith be the answer? Will Biadaz and Steele improve upon last season? Can Tyron stay healthy? Even Martin was banged up last year. I am thinking we will improve a little but still far off from what we need to be; however, our run defense should be much improved.

I make no sense but you agree with number 3,?
Make up your mind!

I agree with that, I've wanted us to spend on a 1T for some time, I just think we'll be better this season with it driven by organic improvement mostly rather than a specific player. Bohanna was a bit of a JAG as a rookie but he surely will be a better JAG as a 2nd year player and he played something like 30% of snaps last season so had a decent sized role.

I'm not sure the 2015 Broncos had "that dude" in the middle either. Sylvester Williams was decent but I think it's fair to say that defense was driven by Ware, Miller and a fantastic backfield. Still a good team against the run though.
The Ds are always driven by the disruptors. However, what the disruptors do is made possible by players such as the NT.

We have some new faces. Solid picks. Hoping we can get it together. My worry is the same O-Line coach. Could have upgraded there..

I believe Smith will be a plus starter as a rook. Very strong, very tenacious, and just mean. This kid is what we've been missing.
I hope he's another nasty Columbo type. I often think back to his playing days when he'd go after opposing players being Romo's big brother.

I'm hoping to see the offensive line get all the help needed to significantly improve upon the running game. There's lots of work to be done. We won't know how that turns out until well into training camp, if my hunch plays out! Tyron, Tyson and whoever mans the C spot all need to succeed. I feel sure LT and the Center spot will require capable backups. Hopefully, Tyson Smith will prove to be a major upgrade at LG and Josh Ball might excel.

Tyson is already a dominant run blocker.

Granted, for sure, but his pass protection is what concerns me the most . . .
I'll be hoping the big fella stops them in their tracks and avoids fouls.
Tyrone is a Hall of Famer, period.
When he plays!
Which has not been for an entire season in several years.
To rely on him for 16 games is just not a smart game plan.
To have no veteran swing tackle behind him is just insanity.
