Good to see Zeke out there working out and healthy. Before the injury he was 4.5 a carry in September and 5.3 in October. He sustains an injury with a torn PCL and his avg drops into the 3's. I wish I could say injury don't matter but they do and it will have a negative effect on a players ability. Right now he in healthy once again hope he can stay that way
Yet another indictment of the front office/coaching staff.
He should never been allowed to continue to play, especially
when he was ineffective and hurting the team.

I just hope he can stay healthy and this staff isn't challenged enough to run him with an injury, right into the ground.

If Zeke stays healthy, he’ll rush for a minimum of 1,200 yards this coming season. I would say even more, but I think Pollard will get more carries than he has in previous years. Mark my word.

Nothing wrong with Zeke.

he just needs more Rushes.

1200 APY

12 TDS

4.2 YPA

torn PCL

Worth 18 million all day!!!

About 40 backs in the NFL can average 4 ypc in the #1 offense in football. Maybe more.

He barely got over 1000 yards rushing on the year. Over a 17 game season thats 58 yards per game there pal. Terrible considering the guy got tons of touches.

Zeke is a shadow. And whatever Zeke does Pollard does it better.

2017 - He was suspended 6 games so he ran for 983 yards in 10 games
2020 - This was the Cabo Mexico holdout year - It was obvious to anyone that he showed up out of shape. He was not football ready and that was his fault. No excuses
2021 - I think he was ready to roll. However, our OLine was terrible at run blocking between the tackles which is his strength. Biadasz and C Will/McGovern were terrible in the middle. Pollard was not as affected by the lack of inside blocking because he is an outside the tackles type of RB. Also, it was obvious Zeke was not healthy with that knee brace he was wearing toward the end of the season
2022 - I think the Zeke/Pollard combination can do big things for us this year "IF" the OLine can correct the run blocking issues. I think this will be Zeke's last year as a Cowboy due to his contract. The only chance he has of hanging around is if he takes a drastic pay cut and that may not even be enough to stick with Dallas.

My philosophy on RBs:

Don't draft a RB in the 1st round ever
Always have 2 good ones on the roster - you don't necessarily need a great one
Keep them through the first 4 years of their rookie contract. When the 2nd contract comes up and they are wanting big money then just let them go.
Draft them with the intention of only keeping them 4 years and replacing them after that.

There could be a very rare exception where you look at the 2nd contract but it would have to be a very, very special RB that had a history of staying healthy.

Actually, the holdout was in 2019. In 2020, Zeke had Covid and while it's true that he played poorly, he also struggled with leg injuries. He even missed a game with a calf injury. Your assessment on 2017 and 2021 is spot on.

2017 suspended… 2020 he admitted to playing like crap and last year he did look good before getting injured. Pisses me off he okayed through that

And I think in 2020, he took more of the blame on himself than he deserved. We were without our starting QB for most of the year and our offensive line was a MASH unit.

IMO, the primary reason for his lower productivity was that he would do exactly what is seen in the video. He would get the ball and then start dancing as he came up to the line of scrimmage. The additional time taken would just allow a defender to shed a blocker and tackle him. When Zeke was effective, he would just hit the hole and go. Pollard last year would just take the ball and go.

The line wasn't as bad last year as people made it out to be. You just can't hold blocks against NFL caliber defenders forever.
