Let's say you are a young enough Cowboys fan to where you weren't even old enough to remember the last Cowboys Super Bowl championship back in January 1996.

How in the hell did you get roped into becoming a Cowboys fan? Was it the Joneses and their wit and savvy?

Just curious.
I’ve been a diehard Cowboy fan since around !970 when I was 8 years old, so the Jones had nothing to do with it.

I'm an original....almost... fan since 5yrs old 1970...my dad was huge fan of the star helmet and multiple formation offense which was new and exciting at the time. After that, where I live , they were on TV all the time and in the playoffs every year.

Even those who hated the Boys, knew every Cowboys player on the roster, but couldn't name 5 players on their own team.

The brand was born with Tom, Tex and Gil....Roger just took it over the top. They were must see TV.

I consider myself lucky to have seen it all.

That’s an amazing transformation going from a Washington fan to a Cowboys fan. Did you ever consider crossing back over when Washington beat the Cowboys in the 1982 NFC title game and went onto win the Super Bowl? I’m surprised you remained a Cowboys fan after Washington won another SB in 87 and what went down with the Cowboys in the late 80s.
Never turned back. I was upset the Cowboys loss to the Washington team in the NFC title game.

I’m old enough that I pretended to be Too Tall Jones in the back yard. It was definitely the poster of a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader in my older cousin’s room that chose my team for me.

My dad hooked me on them in the 70s when they were known as the classiest team in the NFL.

If I was under the age of 35, there's no way I'd root for this garbage organization.

I did not pass my fandon to my kids, who just follow college football through the schools they attend(ed).

I became a fan with the Ice Bowl and the team had never participated in a World Championship! I was 12.

Staubach was the reason i became a Cowboy fan. Danny White years were fun but couldnt quite get it done. Aikman was a sniper who would convert 3rd downs when needed most. Only QB who could hand the ball off 8 times ina row and than throw a perfect strike on a slant to Irvin. Those 92 through 95 years were great but i hated Jerry for letting Jimmy go. I was so used to winning that it hurt like heck when the Cowboys lost. Its been down hill ever since and i have come to expect the Cowboys to make some noise and lose when it matters most. Romo was the last hope that faded with mistake after mistake. Dak is a cheap chinese imitation of an NFL QB that is fine against bad teams but gives 0 hope against better teams.

Dallas lost to "Old D.C." twice in conference championship games
1972___ 3 - 26; 1982___ 17 - 31...both at RFK Stadium. Cowboys played poorly. Both times Washington went on to win the Super Bowl.
