Good post but the Romo mishandled snap was on a field goal attempt, not an extra point. I assume you’re talking about the Seattle playoff game.

What made it worse was I thought he was actually gonna make it to the endzone. Lol, just as heart wrenching as it gets. Seattle however, had zero dbs and we still couldn't take advantage. We looked like crap and I figured we were dead next week anyway.

1. The Dez catch
2. The tackle hold no call that made possible Rodgers’ throw and the screw ball style kick that followed.
3. Dwight Clark
4. Romo muff

I have a 3 way tie.

1981 NFC Championship game strip sack of Danny White. I don't care about the catch. Dallas was 10-15 yards away from FG range.
2007 Divisional round Patrick Crayton drop over the middle with room to run.
2014 Divisional round fumble by Murray with the lead and room to run.

I don't care about the Dez catch or non catch. It should have never gotten to that point. The Cowboys were starting to take control of that game like they did many other times during the season. The fumble changed the complexion of that game.

The 2006 botched fumble didn't bother me that much because the Cowboys weren't going anywhere. They were not contenders.

...."The Catch"..stems highest for me. Though smaller one's with high octane as well. Playoff game Vs GB, gimpy Rodgers rolls out of pocket with few seconds left to complete pass, then kick FG to win. ..Argghhh.....

Yes, dear fans, this question is cyclical but it needs an update.

Why? Two words:
Romo. Dak.

There are the highs of the aftermath of 5 Super Bowls. But our haul could have been 8 Super Bowls if boneheaded and unfortunate plays had not occurred.

Me painful moment through the ages?

It remains Jackie Smith dropping tha ball in tha end zone in Super Bowl XIII Jan. 1979.
Crushed I was. Had I been old enough I would have gotten drunk with me mum.

In recent history, good lads all, there was the Romo extra point muff and the agonizing Dak run to football ridicule in the last seconds for not sharing the ball with the ump.

So, me fellow furry friends of fierce fandom, what are your painful memories of Cowboy Lore?
What bad memory would you care toshare/ unload as you look ahead?
Holla
1994 Deion Sanders missed interference call on Michael Irvin in the end zone. I will go to my grave believing we win 4 consecutive Super Bowls if the refs don’t miss that call.

For some reason the one that stung the most was when Jason Garrett iced our own kicker, whose name escapes me at the time. He made the first attempt but was iced. Missed the second one. That one stung so bad.

I think Garrett went on to coach five more years after that.

And I'll never get over the game in San Francisco. I'm not even going to mention the year. We all know.

:thumbdown:Funny u mention Garrett . I remember an OT game in Houston the Pokes were in the Texans side of the field and I want to say 4th and maybe 2 and was a not makable FG too far but it called for imagination go for the first down keep driving but JG punted . Of course Watson drove Houston to FG range and the win

I don't know who's our worst coach at all time. It has to be between Campo and Garrett.

And to think it came down to Avezzano the ST coach or Campo . Jerry picked the wrong asst coach . Of course if I remember correctly Campo had three yrs of a team in salary cap trouble not good when “ building “ . Campo had three straight 5-11 yrs at least JG knew how to get to 8-8 over and over …

Avezzano should have gotten the job after Jimmy Johnson. Hell Norv Turner should have been promised the job before he left for Washington.

It was so mishandled.

My most painful Cowboys moment came in 1983, the second Cowboys-RedCensors game watching Tom Landry yell No, No, No to Danny White. The Cowboys were never the same after that.

December 31, 1967 16 seconds left
January 17, 1971 9 seconds left

At some point soon after the 1971 game, I figured out it is just a game...doesn't affect the world or peoples lives one ioda. From that point on...its only a game. Win great...lose oh well it happens. The 1982 game was disappointing only because I felt the Cowboys were the better team but it didn't work out. Life happens.

Go Cowboys!

People often point to the Crayton drop in the 2007 playoff game, but Jacques Reeves face mask call that allowed them to continue a drive and score before half is something I just can't let go of.

Walking out of whatever they called Houston stadium at the time after they beat us in their first game of existence was a smack in the face worse than I've ever felt about this organization.

The Seattle muff was a spike of *hope* for me.

Once they lined up for a FG, I thought we were doomed. The Seahawks would throw straight at The Biscuit, march down the field , and kick the winning FG. They even had a great long range kicker.
We needed a TD to have a hope of winning. Would have gotten one too if Grammatica had managed more than a whiff on the guy who tackled Tony from behind.

Me good lad, I am NOT trying to minimize tha game and your angst, but there must be more to losing to the lowly Texans than I realized.
Dear @fivetwos and fans out there in the desolate prairies and urban cooktops o' Texas, hep me understand the significance of this game.
I will try to look it up on ruetube.
