The honeymoon phase ended a few years ago for me with Dak. The Rams saw it with Goff and the Eagles saw it with Wentz. Ya'll still getting fooled while both those teams have rings with QBs not named Goff or Wentz.

Yes. Rodgers. A veteran. With a ring. MVP awards. A rookie 4th rounder beat him once and took him to the brink in playoffs.

I don't fault a rookie for his playoff performance. There is a reason no rookie has ever made it to the Superbowl. Looking at that game at the time, nobody had any idea how things would turnout.

But I find the finger pointing and bashing towards a then rookie very pitiful.

i want some of those drugs if you even think that dak is better than Patrick Mahomes . Most of those high yardage games comes in garbage time and againist weak defenses so get a hold of your self also won is a 1st round talent and the other is a 4th round talent. The only reason he's held as a franchise Qb is that jerry saddled team with big money for him and he will never say HE'S WRONG

Mahomes has had two hall of famers in their prime and a future hall of famer as his coach. Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Andy Reid are all future hall of famers. But if the team around him begins to crumble he could start to look worse.

I agree.if we brought Mahomes here, he would be better, but he still wouldn't have a ring. Jones boys make sure that doesn't happen. but he would be #1 in jersey sales probably, so that would be something to celebrate. nobody is going to win a championship in dallas for a very long time.

well young romo was very much like mahomes has been early on.

I don't believe Dak is a top 10 QB. I believe he is somewhere between 14-16ish range.

There is no solution right now because he's under contract. We're stuck for a few years, but what I would do in the meantime is draft a QB in the 1st round next year (reports are as many as six 1st round QB talents next year), rebuild the team around Dak, by the time Dak's contract is up have a solid foundation in place for the new QB to take over, whether it's that 1st rounder we draft if you want to go that route (Farve/Rodgers situation), a trade (like the Rams did with Stafford), or FA signing (Brady with the Bucs).

I believe the only way we win a Super Bowl with Dak would be with a great defense and dominate run game. We have a decent defense, not great defense, but we're set on being a pass heavy team it seems, so there goes that plan.

If we have 6 teams on our schedule that are considered "top teams" Dak MIGHT play well against 2 of them. He's wildly inconsistent, but leans much more towards to bad side, against the better teams in the league. We need better than that. If we're a Wild Card team we'd need to beat 4 playoff level teams in a row to win the Super Bowl. Do you honestly trust Dak to play well 4 games in a row against playoff teams? I don't think anybody would trust that, they might say they do, but talk is cheap.

So you’re hoping we are good/lucky enough to draft a better QB. Even only looking at the draft he was drafted in can you see how that evaluating that position and how college success translates to the pros is very difficult at best?

I think you’re not being realistic if you think there’s a better chance of that happening then winning with Dak. We could’ve won with Romo too. Defense is important. There’s only so many Rodgers and Mahomes in the world.

I guess you’re hoping just like me. But I believe the showing from Dak (Pro Bowls, MVP contender pre injury) is evidence that he’s capable of playing well enough to win it all. In playoff games the D hasn’t been that good, has it? While his production seemed pretty good in a few of them.

You believe that we can draft someone else and that he’ll be more successful, while ignoring all the draft failures.

I hope one of us is right.

Did you see the 400 yard games for each? That production is what is being compared. Explain why that comparison is “ludicrous”.

They both play NFL QB. Comparing any stat seems reasonable.
