With Washington (walking boot) and Tolbert (hamstring) sitting out, coupled with Gallup's rehab for his ACL injury, it left a shortage at receiver. Second-year pro Simi Fehoko worked primarily with the No. 1 receivers opposite CeeDee Lamb.

So much for not needing Amari Cooper from Jerry Dumbo GM and Stephen hoghead VP Jones. The Cowboys WR position went from strength to big time weakness.

Cowboys will be back in the market for a veteran WR and Jerry Dumbo GM Jones only got it right one time which was the player he traded away.

It's May 25th.

You can almost smell a disaster coming at WR, which is why it’s been reported the team is looking at WRs. I’m sure it’s an accurate report because the Cowboys can’t feel comfortable with what they currently have.

I don't know why they wouldn't if they truly feel Lamb is a 1 and Tolbert was worth a 3rd round pick. That gives you 4 legitimate WRs. Just like they had last year.

Don't worry about the WRs. Worry about the QB.

For the amount of money they were paying Cooper, the Cowboys were not getting the production. It was the right move to trade him.

Cowboys still have CeeDee Lamb, Noah Brown, Simi Fehoko, T.J. Vasher and Brandon Smith all healthy for OTAs right now.

Washington and Tolbert will be ready to go come Training Camp which starts by the end of July, so stop worrying. This sounds more like an excuse to complain since your favorite (Amari Cooper) is no longer here.

Best move of the offseason was getting rid of that over priced, oft injured sweet guy.

I liked Cooper whenever he was available, but like you pointed out he was not always available plus IMO he was indeed over priced. But like some have said, the season hasn't started yet. There is time to solve that issue. I don't think they'll need to hire a WR from Home Depot.

Do you not understand we don't play a game that matters until September? The WR group will be just fine then with the exception of Gallup.

I love Cooper, but not as your 22 million dollar #1. Especially when you have Lamb sitting there ready to take the over the role.

The receivers they had last season were proven. Two of those receivers are gone and one of them Is coming off an ACL which will likely keep him out the first part of the 2022 season. That leaves only CeeDee from last season to start the season. All the coverage is now going to roll to him. We certainly can’t depend on a rookie third round pick. He may end up being a good receiver but you certainly can’t call him legit until we see him play at the NFL level.

So, we are one broken bone away from Fehoko covering for Lamb/Gimpy Gallup?

Still say Cedric Wilson should have been kept .

Let's actually see how those do that we'll finally have to handle things in September.

Cedric was helpful, but we should have some pretty reliable WRs in house, by then.

Some of you are vastly underestimating Fehoko..

We could win with Fryfogle, Drummond and Roberson.

No, no.. I smell uninformed fans.

A-men.

Thing is, Cooper took plays off.. and was 70%.. afraid of contact.

Glad that snitch is gone.

A QB like Romo....could take a wr like Laurant Robinson, and make him a legit receiver
Free agents like Austin flourished
Romo and Rico terrorized in practice
Dak....need supply of large catch radius high draft pics

Yeah, Jerry is a very smart man.
But both ego and optimism get in his way at times

And those that say a guy who spent at least 65 years of his life engulfed in football as being some sort of football moron....well, that silly too.
NOT saying he's some great GM or football savant, but he played the game all the way thru SEC and then has been buried by football people/coaches/scouts etc most of the rest of his life.
His family is obsessed with football and even his grandkids grew to be good players.
It has to account for something

Having said that...have never been a fan of Jerry being GM.

Bingo. His ego and optimism are actually detrimental to the job of a GM whose job requires him to be looking at the team with a critical eye..... always looking for weaknesses and ways to improve the talent at every spot.

The problem in Dallas for the past 26 years is too much hopium and not enough critical thought.
