Yup and I keep hearing about how our first round pick is already pretty muscled up. We gonna be physical this year.
As long as Tyler Smith isn't thrown into the starting LT. position too soon I think he will thrive at LG and be a stud. He will have his issues early on,like any rook. By mid season I think he will have the NFL figured out and he will be fine tuned.

You know me, any mention of Crawford just brings back bad memories of a failed experiment.

And it gives me the impression of strictly a role player rather than a starter. I would expect more of a 3rd round draft investment.
Not for a 3rd round DE. Usually by that point in the draft any legit edge rusher is gone and you are getting jags. Thats why I wasnt a fan of the pick, you are basically boxing yourself into a 2 down utility player. At that point there are still impact players at other positions to be had

He'll be happy (and lucky) to be embracing any role on this team. He's a fringe player who is in a fight to be one of the (most likely only) 10 D-lineman they keep. The spots are filling up quickly and he needs to fight like he's 3rd in line for the arc and it's starting to rain. There are already at least 8 spots locked in and he isn't one of them:
Dlaw, Gallimore, Odiggy, Fowler, Armstrong, Ridgeway, Watkins, Williams

Basham, Hill, Bohanna and Golston are fighting for the last 2 spots.
lol Gholston aint fighting for a spot. He was hand picked last year by DQ. Hes more of a lock for the final 53 than Ridgeway or Watkins.

I think we forget about Watkins. He's an afterthought. He had a good year. He was dominant against the Saints. We are really deep at dline suddenly, barring injury.I think the 53 will be defense heavy. I think we will carry lower numbers at wr as a result of the quality depth at Dline. Our identity might be as a defensive team.

Unless something drastically changes , Ball will get cut. I think a surprise cut might also be coming.

They scored 7 points in the second half because of Dak’s interception. We held up well against their run. We gave the offense two chances to win even with Gregory’s idiotic holding penalty.
We gave up 169 yards rushing, the Rams gave up 50. Their defense was the strength of the team and did the same to the packers the next week . Bottom line is we allowed them to score on all of their dirves in the first half which created a deficit that was too much to come back from.

Which again, proves that the game of football is still won and lost in the trenches. Win at the line, your skill guys can do their damage. It never works in reverse. Without fail.

Didn't we spend a Rd 3 pick on Ball last year? I forget. If that's the case, I see no way he gets cut. That's how this front office thinks.

FYI, It's spelled Golston. lol

I personally can't believe Ridgeway is a bubble guy. I get that he was only a late 5th rd pick, but the guy is nasty and they are acting like they want a lot more nasty this year. At this point I don't think you can say Golston is anything but a bubble guy. Regardless of his circumstances. Especially if he isn't going to give you anything as a DE. I don't see him being a better DE than D-Law, Fowler, Armstrong, Williams. Watkins maybe on the bubble, and Golston maybe the guy to kick him off the team, but as of now I don't see that.
And I highly doubt he can beat out Gallimore, Odiggy, Hill, Bohanna and Ridgeway for a DT spot. Again, possibly Watkins, but don't write Watkins off just yet. He's a solid vet who had a good year last season. Basham maybe the odd man out but again, if Golston is bumping down inside, Basham isn't really his competition.
Hey maybe we're both right and they keep 11 not 10.

Ridgeway ie the Vanilla Gorilla, will be on the 53. He's not getting cut.

I will say this their lines both defensively and offensively was better then ours. In the end that is what decided the game.

Donovan Wilson is the 3rd S on a team that plays a lot of 3 S looks. He’s essentially a starter, not sure why you see him as a cut. Plays well when available the only thing he fights is injury.

If you think Bell or any down-roster S is taking Wilson’s place this year that’s a big assumption. My money is the guy is essentially a starter again next year like he’s been since year 2.

Bell seems 2 be favored over Wilson. But yeah, you are preaching to the choir. Wilson has been my guy. I luv his tenacity when healthy. Has a nose for turnovers. He brings some swag. Im just sayin, the staff seems to be favoring Bell.

Ridgeway is making the 53. Bo is the guy on the Bubble. I even hear Tristan Hill looks good so far.
Ridgeway could end up on PS
Hill needs to prove something
In 504 snaps over 18 games he has 27 tackles
Only 2 tackles for loss

there is 0 chance. A team will quickly poach him from the PS if we do that.
