Jerry’s fascination with talking about players makes no sense. They made the decision to move on. How bout focusing on the players that are here instead of talking Cooper or Gregory, he is trying to hard to justify the moves that the team made this year. (All which I don’t have problem with)

Yeah well seee how much of an preferable number 1 the cowboys believe he is when it comes time to extend him. Becaue if he has a another 1000 yard season and more tds, I don’t think he’ll be quiet next summer without a contract extension, the way it’s going recently these guys don’t want to go duration of their rookie contract without a new contract.

Were the others very publicly out and about at places like Mavericks games with other players mask-less like he was with CeeDee?
I think that kind of exacerbated the issue.

Cooper is not and probably will never be a face of the franchise type. It is just not in his DNA.

If you are getting paid in Dallas, you had better be willing to be that face.

CeeDee is going to find out this season what it means to be the true #1, lots more pressure in more ways than one for Lamb coming right up.

He's going to wilt like a flower in the sweltering heat.
Watching the tape in the KC game tells us that.

When the two morons in charge of personnel cant shut their holes about who they want to move it doesnt help drum up trade interest. Nobody shoots themselves repeatedly in the foot like this front office does.

I don't think they're that stupid. Everyone in the NFL knew the Cowboys were going to move on from him based on the amount of targets he was getting, especially on the road and in the playoffs. The guy had the talent to take over games and he would disappear on the road. So whatever they said publicly was already known. The reason they made it public is because he pissed them off. I've never seen them blast a player like that.

The guy was a fan favorite. People loved when he caught the ball because they could chant "Coop." I don't think they really wanted to move on but he forced their hand. It's simply not good business to pay him that much money. It's not good for the salary cap and it's not good for team morale. It sets a very bad example. They made the right decision in trading for him (at the time) and they made the right decision in letting him go.

What limited his production was the Cowboys not utilizing him enough.

I don't agree. Injuries slowed him down and made him ineffective at times. Were there times when he was open and should have gotten the ball thrown to him? Sure, but that doesn't mean they didn't utilize him enough.

Injuries were also the reason that he disappeared at times. I believe a healthy Cooper can beat any corner in the league. A hampered Cooper is still good enough to beat most corners in the league, but when he was hampered, the better corners could shut him down.

He still made a lot of plays for us despite the lower body injuries. We simply didn’t target him enough and he even alluded to that during a radio interview. He pretty much pointed the finger at Kellen Moore.

Cooper is a pretty straightforward dude. Probably let Jerry see the contempt he had for him.
I don’t know if it was contempt necessarily. But it was clear about Cooper. He was paid. But never a made man.

Every receiver believes they are not targeted enough.

When was the last time you heard/read Coop's name in the same sentence with charity as a Dallas Cowboy? ( 2018 ) I noticed this few months ago......what interesting it's first thing he did AFTER the trade to the Browns. Not sure many fans noticed but leadership and/or community involvement is highly expected from their highly paid players.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...upgrade-over-amari-cooper-as-a-no-1-receiver/

But Jones acknowledged Cooper had his issues and that Lamb has the makings of more a complete No. 1 receiver in “production, in the huddle and off the field.”

He’s a better #1 because he’s an upgrade off the field…? What does that even mean? Amari was a boy scout.

Something definitely happened last season that soured the team on Amari. Maybe it was the reported outbursts at Dak. Maybe the team asked him to take a pay cut. But CeeDee is a preferable option because he’s not making 20m$ a year, not because he’s proven to be superior on the football field. To outright say you prefer him over Amari implies there’s something more going on there.

Cooper chose to do something that resulted in him missing 2 key games he could have played in. When Jerry said everyone was all in for a championship, he didn’t mean Amari doing that. Hence, CD is an upgrade off the field. Something definitely happened ? Lol….yah.
