Crawford would've been remembered as a very nice rotational player if we hadn't grossly and stupidly overpaid him.

In the eyes of the beholder I guess
As I thought osa had a productive rookie year as 3rd rounder.
And you're drafting guys for the long term not just one lone rookie year.
I agree im not sure how 2021 rookies who all contributed something and some more are considered bad. Risen as usual spitting trash for rises ie sarcasm drama train.. OSIs above average and has a future , Gholston's learning as the team is on how to use him ..not sure why rookies now are either regarded at Parsons level ie instant fan fave or if not a total waste of a bust after year 1..so stupid. Fans have no middle ground around here its boom or bust.

soem ignorant takes on football form some who claim to know about football. i mean thats like expecting freshmen's in college to be stars if not just cut them before they develop LMAO.. development is normal Parsons types are the exception, that doesn't happen often.. rookies are expected to start out slow and develop over time..

So he put on 20 lbs in one year and is moving better than last year? Is that really what they are trying to sell

thats the issue fans like you think these reports are for you LOL they arent selling anything just reporting what they see and hear, that it..i don't think the FO cares any less what you think of Gholston. LMao

the fact you think hey do is why the egos need to be popped around here. they aren't selling they are reporting facts. All teams do i mean what else is there to report this time of year..no pads just shorts and walk through type practices..

when full practices with pads come on and things are full speed views will most likely change.. this is what they see and hear and they report it..thats it ..no conspiracy's

heres some advice, dont watch or listen. then you cant be sold..

Some players can add weight w/ little or no loss of agility and some can't. It's not unusual for a player to add good weight and retain quickness.

Yes, Quinn runs a multi-front defense.

Marinelli liked to rotate DL on a per series basis instead of per down basis.
- That ended up with players being exposed when they were in the wrong situation.
- i.e. Tyrone Crawford at DT on 3rd and 1.

The peak of Marinelli's inept coaching and scheme was the 2018 season playoff game vs the Rams.
- Marinelli's scheme had no answer to the the Rams unique version of the Zone Blocking Scheme.
- Even if they could have added a half-dozen All Pros to that defense, they still would have been gashed by the Rams running scheme.

Meanwhile, Belichick in the Super Bowl, made a simple adjustment to his scheme and it stymied the Rams precision run blocking scheme.
- Belichick was running a base 4-3 and 4-2-5 Nickel that year.
- The Cowboys could have made a similar adjustment in their 4-3 / 4-2-5 scheme.
- Instead of a scheme adjustment, Marinelli's adjustment was to have the LBs start cheating to one side in anticipation of what the Rams were doing.
- That just made it worse.

As far as vs run ,, even before Rams faced Belly’s Pats in SB… the Rams didn’t/ could not do jack against Saints run defense- because Saints were too physical.
Rams couldn’t red sea part the Saints front the way Rams very easily could with Cowboys front.

- And we were already showing signs of weakness/vulnerable vs Colts in reg season.

- Bill Belly not only had all the right stuff to shut down the Rams misdirection run game (with fa CJ Anderson and gippy Girley) .. but they put a shut down lid
on Jared Goff, whom without an aiding play action run game, was made that much vulnerable and exposed.

- Vs Rams playoff game in 2018 - Bad enuff we didn’t have the girth, physically upfront in Marinelli’s DL, but that Rams run scheme which includes great amount of misdirection and play action utterly had the heads of our LBs (ala LVE and Jaylon Smith) utterly spinning, drowning and confused. They didn’t have a lickin’ clue.

- We had to bench rookie LVE and replace him with aging, fragile vet Sean Lee.
And misdirection failings shouldn’t have been surprising, because we were also struggling so mightily with misdirection screen plays. Misdirection kills our LBs.

- And LVE can still be fooled on misdirection plays too often - lead reason why i'm looking to upgrading over him ...

No he took snaps away from legit players that could get to the QB or stop the run.

Who were these legitimate players that could get to the QB that you speak of?

The likes of Tapper, Mayowa, Taco, and Ryan Russell are legitimate now.

In fairness he missed the first half a season with a foot fracture and then took a bit of time to get up to speed as backup behind Mincey. In the playoffs he had two sacks, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries so I wouldn’t say his rookie regular season performance was indicative of his talent.

I guess everyone has problems, Golston missed all of his rookie training camp. All I'm saying is it's a little early to call a first year player a bust.

360lbs.

So maybe he doesn't lead the team in tackles, but like i said, he wouldn't have been pushed all over the field like Hill was. I know you are in love with Hill's career-high .5 sacks in his 3rd year and all but give me a break.
Bohanna was 6-4, 327 at his Pro Day...

Hill played as a 3-4 NT at over 320 in his first 2 college seasons. He was a favorite of that coaching staff but the new HC refused to let Hill transfer with the original staff.

The new coaching staff in his final season wanted to make him into a Marinelli type 3-tech pass rushing DT that "plays the run on the way to the QB'.

You have typical fan emotional blinders. Fans love to hate certain players. Fans hated Hill because they didn't like the pick based an draft media rankings.

He has not done anything great, but he also has not been terrible on the field. He just hasn't been on the field much due to injuries.

Hill played 40% of snaps in the games that he played in 2021.

Bohanna played 24% of the snaps in the games that he played in 2021.

Donovan Wilson, hill, ball might be early cuts . I think Lewis could get traded.

Wilson has been a solid player and the probability of Hooker missing time with injury issues is very high.
- Also they played 3 Safeties on about 40% of snaps in 2021.

Lewis is a veteran Nickel CB on a low cost contract and Kelvin Joseph might miss games with a suspension.

Hill maybe, but he was active for the playoff game and Bohanna was not.
- The media reported that Hill looked like the quickest and most powerful DT in the OTAs.

Ball is an unknown.
- They're going to carry 2 backup OTs.
- They would likely sign a veteran Swing Tackle before they cut Ball.
