the line was amazing and demarco was as well. they didn’t have to give him 40 mil, just had to not lowball him after such a dominant season. but yes i was absolutely an advocate of keeping him. and the team absolutely was interested in Ramsey, to the point of telling him they were drafting him lol. Ultimately Zeke won out.

By your logic though, if it’s the line and not the RB what’s the point in using your first top 5 pick in 30 years on a running back?
Its not my logic its the Cowboys logic. And to answer your question, they believed Zeke would benefit Romo with his pass blocking ability and keep the defense off the field. People don't remember it now but the Cowboys approach to defense was to limit the amount of time they were on the field so they wanted to control the clock.

Murray got 40 million from the Eagles....The Cowboys are known to overpay their guys...you are saying he would've signed for less here? He would've been the first lol.

They couldn’t go with Ramsey because they needed an RB! They found d out the hard way that the platoon system with Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle didn’t work. Why can’t you get that? I’m not assuming Murray would stay healthy but he was healthy in 2014 and didn’t have any significant injury history after he left. The guy we passed on has a Super Bowl ring and is probably thankful the Cowboys didn’t select him.
First off, McFadden had solid production in 2015. He had 1k yards and didn't even start the first few games. So this notion that it didn't work....is crap. You keep speaking as if there was only running back in the whole free agent class lol. Derrick Henry was a 2nd rounder and there were others as there always are. They took Zeke who was a luxury. A year prior they thought Randle and McFadden were good enough backs to run behind this line....if Randle didn't steal underwear he would've been on the Cowboys in 2016 as well and probably their running back.

And who gives a damn that Ramsey has a ring? A lot of guys have rings. Carson Wentz has a ring too. In order for Ramsey to get his ring he had to get the hell out of the Jags organization. He clearly had a issue with a incompetent team and front office....sounds like Dallas. But sure he would've never asked to be traded from Dallas. Not the great Dallas Cowboys.....the one who just had Randy Gregory dip out on them for the Bronco's.....

And if we are going to go back and forth don't speak to me in a condescending tone. Keep it civil and i'll do the same. Let's be mature adults here. Just because I don't agree with your asinine opinion doesn't mean you are any more right or wrong than I am.

Are you serious? lol No way is 1086 yards and 3 TDs solid production behind the same OL Murray gained over 1800 yards and 13 TDs the previous year. If the Cowboys thought McFadden’s numbers were solid production they wouldn’t of used the fourth overall pick on an RB, especially with the best corner in the draft there for the taking. You don’t take a player as a luxury with the fourth overall pick, you take them because you have a need! Darren McFadden averaged under 4 yards a carry in 8 games in 2015 and he only scored 3 TDs. He single-handedly helped cost us the game against Tampa when we had the lead and couldn’t eat up the final few minutes on the ground. McFadden took a loss and put us in a hole forcing us to have to throw the ball. Jameis Winston ended up beating us in the final seconds. McFadden lost his speed and got chased down several times over the course of that season.

As for Joseph Randle he wasn’t doing any better. No way would the Cowboys have stayed with him even if he didn’t have any problems. The departure of Murray changed everything. The Cowboys were on the brink of possibly becoming a great team but they screwed it up by letting him walk. Romo was coming off his best playoff performances of his career and arguably his best season but with an inconsistent running game in 2015 he had to shoulder the load, which contributed to him getting hurt.

Its not like Jerry has had a long term issue with selfish receivers. He seems to outright like receivers who want the ball. He has also not had issues with divisive wide outs. If there was a line crossed, it was probably for calling out Dak and Moore because that makes Jerry look bad.

Well over 200 responses over two and a half days.... Cooper's time with the Cowboys has been analyzed and discussed thoroughly.
Like his former teammates Gregory, Wilson, Williams, and Collins who left the Star @ Frisco - a number of CZers /Cowboys fans will be checking throughout the upcoming season to see what they are doing - and comparing their production to the players that replaced them.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...upgrade-over-amari-cooper-as-a-no-1-receiver/

But Jones acknowledged Cooper had his issues and that Lamb has the makings of more a complete No. 1 receiver in “production, in the huddle and off the field.”

He’s a better #1 because he’s an upgrade off the field…? What does that even mean? Amari was a boy scout.

Something definitely happened last season that soured the team on Amari. Maybe it was the reported outbursts at Dak. Maybe the team asked him to take a pay cut. But CeeDee is a preferable option because he’s not making 20m$ a year, not because he’s proven to be superior on the football field. To outright say you prefer him over Amari implies there’s something more going on there.
The contract was designed to be able to walk away from it after 2 seasons from the get go… it was even reported as so at the time it was signed. They had the options of keeping him or trying to resign/tag Shultz and Gregory. Don’t believe there was actually anything else to it than that!

i said your logic because you asked if it was Demarco or the line when i said Zeke hadn’t had a better season.

the Eagles didn’t come in and offer that 40 mil until the midnight hour after Dallas had slowplayed and lowballed Demarco. They could’ve locked him up well before that. Oh well

JJ was sniffing at a convenient way to dump salary........Welcome Noah Brown, who's been here since 2017 for 0 TDs and 425 yards. Next on the agenda.....Zeke......but watch this board when TPollard gets paid and 5 games of him as the featured back.
