The problem with Monday Night Football for quite awhile now is that the matchups always seem to be pretty weak

The issue with MNF was that SNF was bidding more so they got the “first pick” of every week’s matchups, and the League wanted every team to have a Monday night appearance as they believed there was no rating competition so it wouldn’t matter. That’s how you get Bears at Lions and Raiders at Texans, and also how “game of the week” switched from Monday to Sunday

that seems to have maybe changed this year

Not sure about Tirico for 3 hours.

Will be interesting to see how well the Amazon crew fits together. Herbie got better after the CFP was introduced and he stopped being a complete OSU homer on air.

Check the schedule - there are some good games -
Bills - Titans
Rams - 49ers
Chargers - Colts
Rams -Packers
Bills - Bengals
Giants - Cowboys

There are good matchups every year on paper but somehow the games produce a disproportionate level of duds. At least the Manning cast provided some additional entertainment value last year.

I tune in for the games, not the commentary - conventional or otherwise.

I agree for the most part .... but a dud is a dud. Part of the experience is the broadcast team bringing information, view points, rules clarification etc., to the fan. A good broadcast team can enhance the experience. Like a good dipping sauce. Makes good things great and mediocre things good.

The CBS Radio /Westwood One teams are very good. They are worth a listen during the primetime night games.

Surprised that, in this day and age, there are no females.

Virtue signalling reigns supreme

SHHHHH They'll hear you!!!! On a serious note they do and i'll just turn the tv down, maybe off. Time to let the more woke amongst us know. My dollar spends too, and it's been supporting you guys alot longer

wonder how much propaganda we can expect from the Espn guys. Gets harder to enjoy a game while the announcers just wont take pause and call the game. Too much agenda driven stuff. I'm hoping for less of that this year. Cautiously optimistic.

and a bit less virtue signaling and off field agenda's(by the announcers) would be refreshing. Just sayin.

Buck is the worst at that.

The night Moss pretended to moon the GB crowd he said we're not going to show that disgusting display again. If he knew more, he would have known that entertained the hell out of that crowd as it is tradition for the fans to moon the opposing team's busses in the parking lot and he was actually interacting with them and they loved it. Even though he'd scored a TD against them.

The entire league would do well to keep it all about football because that's what the fans are there for unless they're highlighting the My Cleats program, that's a feel good for the game.

I aint gettin into the details, but the Hot Mic moment where he and Aikman said something when the Military Jets flew over during a TV break is case and point. It was a bit uncalled 4 and just should be kept to ones self. You may know what I am talking about. I thought it was disgusting and has 0 place being mentioned at a game by TV ANNOUNCERS. Nobody cares what they think unless its the actual game . They just need to call the game and not get off into the weeds.

The former NBC sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya did an interview after she retired recently stating in large part why she retired. She didnt wanna go alng with the non football narratives that NBC was cranking out and she felt very infringed upon being asked to do so. You know what I mean. I applaud her stance. Shes very classy. She was there a very long time.
