For what it's worth, PFF had Tyron rated the #2 tackle in the NFL last season. That's all-pro level.
Tyron even finished 3rd place in the all-pro voting for left tackle. Of course that will make the haters mad because they can't simply brush it off as "pff is a joke"

I don’t buy into all their ratings. They also had our OL rated at or near the top.

Drive to the ranch and ask him yourself.....it's so easy for fans to bring up stuff like this.....
I would ask him through a bull horn about 100 yards away. I'd say, "Hey Tyron, isn't time for you to retire, you old bag a bones!!", and then run like heck. Might have to be 200 yards away. He might be able to catch me if I am just 100 yds from him.

Thats fine but he also finished 3rd in the all pro voting and he made the day 1 pro bowl roster which is primary based on coaches/players. He's also expected to be on the NFL top 100 list next month.

It's not like PFF was some random outlier

They also had our OL rated at or near the top.
To be fair when they did that list (I think it was week 13 or 14) the cowboys rushing attack was like over 1400 yards with 4.8 yards per carry, the o-line wasn't even ranked as one of the top 20 worst units in the league for pressures/sacks allowed, and passing wise they where top 8 in almost every category.

Once again it's not like the ranking at the time was some weird outlier, if anything it was good timing (right before the slump) and fans simply being overly dramatic to what was actually happening.

TSmith ain't walking away from millions the next couple seasons. He will hang around until then and then retire like he should have a couple years ago. Jones ain't gonna cut him.

How many people here know that, although Tyron Smith was drafted three years before Zack Martin. Zack is older than Tyron.

Either could retire at any time, they could both retire after the same season.

Not to worry, the stats show that there are many O-linemen that play up to their late 30's. In fact, three of them were starters on the Cowboys last SB championship team in 1995.

i dont see that at all.
when healthy...he still plays at an all-pro level.

Got to agree with KJJ on this. When healthy he generally plays well against the mid to lower level competition. But he certainly doesn't dominate the better players. Not that he is terrible .... but certainly not All Pro level.

I need the backups to get much 1st team reps as possible.
With the injury time that Smith is racking up it's time to move forward without him. Unfortunately, Jerry has played with Smith's contract so many times that releasing him now could be pretty costly in DEAD MONEY.
