Nope I can’t but I must have missed the insult cause all I seen was a poster saying they should be negotiating with pollard and you went all ape **** again.

dude you just need to chill and get that of this fan base they all don’t revere 21 in the same fashion you do. For that matter I haven’t seen anyone who gets so triggered about zeke

Probably still thinks he's the ZEKE from 2016

If Zeke has 1500 yards rushing this year and looks great maybe they can get something for him in a trade. The NFL has changed and there are plenty of RBs that are serviceable in the draft. They could sign Pollard but I wouldn't depend on him at all. This team needs to be using 3RBs.

He might have another year. I dont see another back on the roster that can block so good.

Based upon what Zeke says, it indicates he's accepted the fact that his team's success will be limited to not being SB contenders. I'm certain he's not the only player on the team to share that idea. Anytime the managing of an organization isn't up to snuff, their players realize it. He also knows his time as a Dallas Cowboy is limited and that he can only control himself. He's quite aware of his situation. I'm hoping he'll have a good 2022. You should, too! ;)

All depends on the line. I will give him that he blocks better than pollard but 15 mil a year for a fullback on steroids just don’t do it for me but I’ve never been a big zeke guy and there are a number of backs that could have done what he has and maybe more

I stand by my offensive line being the engine that runs this team statements

To a degree but the line was holding and missing blocks left and right the first 5 games yet Zeke was on a 1600 yard pace and second in the NFL in rushing while averaging over 5 ypc. Zeke's falloff didn't happen until HE got hurt not when the line started stinking. He was routinely getting met in the backfield and ending up with a 3-4 yard gain. And when they actually did block he had some nice long runs. Not any home runs but a couple of standup doubles and stretch triples. If he's healthy Zeke will put up numbers.. almost regardless of what the line does. This insistence on worrying about what happens to him NEXT season is a complete mystery to me. He will either ball out this season or he won't. Either way the Cowboys can't pay his salary after this season. That's the business.. He understands and accepts it. Why can't people who neither pay his salary nor get any of it? What I can't get behind is the notion that we need to be rid of him. The dude is a great football player.. Whether he's leading the league in rushing or not, he can do great things on the football field. Placed in a more limited role where his body isn't taking such a beating he might absolutely destroy. We shall see.

How many NFL RB's are left for dead only to turn their career around in the later part of their career and return to the productivity they produced early in their career?

.....................................That sound of chirping crickets is deafening.

Were you born in the 90s?

Here are a couple of examples off the top of my head..

John Riggins was released by the Jets and treated as a blocking fullback his first two season with the Ratscums. Until they figured out he could still run it. He then had his two best seasons in the NFL in years 13 and 14.. when he was 34 and 35!!

Our own Emmitt Smith was left for dead after two sub par seasons in '96 and '97... His answer was a 1300 yard season followed by a 1400 (1397) yard season and ending with a 1200 yard season. Not as good as his three best seasons but all three were better than his rookie season by a wide margin.

I never get an answer when I ask people how a guy who got hurt on less than 150 touches is going to take over as your lead back. The knock against him dating back to college was that he could not handle full time backfield duty and the first time he gets a steady workload in the NFL he gets hurt. The Zeke hate has resulted in people developing a debilitating blind spot for this fact about Pollard. I like Pollard.. love his game.. but he is perfect in the role at which he has been cast. Nobody ever asked Lucille Ball to play the lead in Breakfast at Tiffany's or Some like it hot! Even though young Lucy was kinda cute.. she was no Audrey or Marilyn!

He wasn't even a RB, he played WR and I believe DB prior. He excelled on returns. No idea why he wasn't used more in that capacity.
He's a change of pace RB, plain and simple.
I also like Pollard, he's a very good player and a really good person. A step up from a Joseph Randle, but not a feature back.

- I believe they actually can pay Elliott current salary beyond this year – it’s a matter of whether they choose to go in that direction.
I think it’s a observation and perception of what kind of player he will end up being this year, and if people insist that he be what version they insist on him to be.

- If we can accept him being a Mark Ingram Jr. type runner, a methodical physical, north-south bell cow, then he’ll likely be that at the least.
If they are expecting him to be Adrian Peterson type splash and breakaway home run player he was in 2016, then I believe that’s when they will get disappointed.

- We’ll very likely hear in these camps that ZKE “ looks to have shed some pounds and he’s again looking like the 2016 version again ..”
And yet again my thoughts will be – Ok, let’s see this shed weight frame and 2016 version once reg season is here ..

- Either those are poor judge- eyeballs, or someone wanting that badly to press and envision Zeke as the 2016 version, that they'll make it up.
Whether Zeke or Pollard, we should’ve been a much more solidified OL unit anyway. Even with Kellen Moore, we still should have the capability to be a productive
rush attack, as we were in Moore’s rookie year as first time OC when we finished 5th in the NFL in rushing.

- And it will also be interesting if we can produce vs the more competitive defenses – not just the weak sister defenses.

Not so sure Zeke will be 100% this year either that knee injury could linger for a long time.

Chances are more that Pollard's type of injury is more reoccurring than Zeke's. He had a small tear or sprain. You do know many players recovered from far worse knee injuries than Zeke and Neve had another issue.
Michael Irvin returned in 1990 from his ACL tear(far worse) and never had another issue with knees.

Plantar Faciitus is fer worse to recover from. Though Pollard's was also minor compared to having a tear.

Neither needed off season surgery, even for a clean up, that we know of.

Not to be argumentative but I thought the reports were that Pollard's actually WAS a tear but that was better than stretching/spraining it because you kinda know what you have and the healing process is "cleaner." But maybe I read that wrong last year..

We are doomed....doomed I tell ya...thanks for the future transaction list, but don't be so sure about that.
Howdy Jazz!
Just speculation on my part.
I hope he has 2,000 yards, and gets a reasonable contract extention from Jerry for the future.
How's that for optimism ?

You could be correct. I am not sure of his exact injury or severity of it. I just know they said he needed rest at that time. And they did sit him a game. And he looked better once he returned. Just as Zeke did after his week of rest.
But both were still hampered for the rest of the season.

Both were nicked for sure!
