Garrett is an upstanding individual. I'll never forget the Thanksgiving game when he played Nov. 24, 1994, when Garrett filled in for injured Aikman & ailing backup Peete to rally our two time Super Bowl champion Cowboys to a 42-31 victory over Favre, White & Packers.

If anyone was clapping that day, it was Cowboys Nation.

That game win was cool, but the LIKE was for the picture.

Perfect role for him. Garrett is super likable, can speak to football in very general terms to the public, will give you the coach speak that casual fans will love, but isn’t too far removed from the game.

Better “football guy” than game day coach.
Garrett is super likable? That’s a first….

Nice. I was hoping the Giants gave him a little more time, but I'm pretty sure two years was enough to ruin the QB.
Garrett ain't the one who ruined Daniel Jones lol...he did that on his own. HE was already in the league before Garrett got there.

I'm fine with it. The guy was always great with the media. He just wasn't a great head coach, and, it wasn't all his fault. It was Jerry's for keeping him around 7 years too long.

Anyway, I wish him luck in the position, and to be honest, I'm curious to see how he does.

Surprised to see him getting this job .
what can he possibly add with any credibility ? a failed washed out ex coach and ex OC who got fired recently. What would he say that would have any credibility . ?

Not sure credibility is much of a criteria for broadcasters. I mean, what did Chris Simms ever accomplish in the NFL?

Best of luck, Jason. You gave your all as a backup Cowboys QB and coach, and I believe you led the Cowboys to more playoff wins than Dak. Princeton. Head coach. Personable.

I never undertood tha Jason Garrett hate.

I watched some of the usfl games, and saw him in one game, and he was not great, or real bad.
he was average, just like he was an avg HC and OC.
So if they want a avg broadcaster, he is their guy !

I heard that he did a good job with USFL games, not that I watched any of them. And maybe he's found his true calling....it certainly wasn't coaching. I will be listening for phrases like "it's a process" and "that's COACH Garrett."

Don't know what his contract would be, but as an analyst in a prime time broadcast every week he could make more than he did as a head coach. By a lot.
he made 6 mil a year as dallas HC, I dont know if he can do better than that.
I think he has a bunch of money, he just wants to be on tv !!:muttley:
