Some of the slowest WRs on their respective teams:

Cooper Krupp
Jerry Rice
Deandre Hopkins
Larry Fitzgerald
Hunter Renfro
Cris Carter
Dez Bryant
Jarvis Landry
Wes Welker

Stop thinking so one dimensionally

Julian Edelman
Anquan Bolden
Chad Johnson
Hines Ward
Brandon Marshall
Antonio Brown
Brandon Llyod
Michael Irvin
Allen Robinson
Demaryius Thomas
Davante Adams
Mike Evans
Adam Thielen
Keenan Allen
Michael Thomas
AJ Green
Alshon Jeffrey

I could go on and on. These are all 4.5 or slower guys with a few 4.47-4.49 guys mixed in.

105 the fan mentioned that offense was struggling vs defense due to lack of separation by the WRs. If the organization doesn’t address this issue then it will carry on to the regular season with the team taking losses.

Need get get a small shifty WR with speed for deep threat and slot play.

Dez ran a 4.52 forty. In his early years he had great on field speed.

Jerry Rice, Mike Irvin and Witten were as good as it gets in getting separation and none of them had great forty times.

The WR's need to work with Dak alot more than what is allowed at practice alone. The real trust between QB and wr is built by those long after hours sessions. And the focus should be for Dak to be able to hit these guys on the move in the short to intermediate routes, the longer routes are fine as the wr had time to adjust to the ball.

The best ones that are drafted and playing right away as #1 are players with at least 4.4 speed.
Wrong.

Anquan Boldin made the Pro Bowl as a rookie. He ran a 4.71 forty.

Davante Adams 4.56
Mike Evans 4.53
DeAndre Hopkins 4.57

Speed is not the key to separation, quickness and agility are more important because this offense is not a vertical passing game.

The real critical part of this WR corps is hands. Steve Largent ran a 4.6 and it was his record that Rice broke. He was a master at giving his QB a place to put the ball and was the poster child for consistency. And he had great hands.

Whaaat?

I mean, there are no true burners in the corps but you definitely have some dudes who can run a 40 yard 9 route and catch it. Also, some guys who can RAC.

Desean Jackson is still out there. You want HIM?

ceedee lamb seems pretty damn fast to me...but what the hell do i know...i clean toilets for a livin'.

Ceedee is shifty with good change of direction and cut back. He isn’t going to win many 40 or 100m dashes tho.

If I recall, didn't the Cowboys have the highest scoring team in the league just last year?

So excuse me if I don't push the panic button on June 3rd.

Maybe our defense is just......................................................................................

Nevermind. What was I thinking

This is one reason why I'm so high on Fehoko.

We need someone to stretch out these defenses, which are getting faster. Over the middle, and deep. So a guy like him fits my bill.

We don't need blazing speed everywhere. But there's a reason Tyquan Thorton was taken so high.

I don't believe he'll pan out as a #1. But it's nice to have that speed guy to stretch the defense.

105.3 guys were referring to Houston, Fryfogle, Drummond, Smith, and Roberson. Guys that aren't going to be on the 53. They were just trying to fill air time.

I could see any of those guys making #5 or #6 if they play special teams.. other than Houston. I think he's probably the least talented .

Unless you're talking about the deep threat, speed is almost irrelevant for WR's. It's like an added extra, nice to have, but way down on the list of what makes WR's successful. If you look at a list of top 10 WR's, only one or two are speed guys. Tyreek and Deebo only ones that come to mind.

It's the exact opposite of what the OP is claiming. Most #1's are not speed threats. To add to your list: Keenan Allen, Cooper Kupp, Michael Thomas.

We seem to prefer receivers who are 6-0 or taller and generally are strong route runners. Players can be deep threats without being speedy if they are great at selling their routes.

That being said, with Gallup, Washington and Tolbert sidelined, I would not expect our remaining receivers to be able to get much separation from our starting corners. Brown, Fehoko and Vasher are fourth, fifth, sixth on the depth chart for a reason. Lamb and Pollard are the only ones out there who belong with the starters.
