You're 100% correct but most of the fans here don't pay attention to whatever happens on other teams and just think this kind of thing only happens to the Cowboys.
Ask the Ravens how their OTAs went with Lamar Jackson....

Should have used the transition tag on him. Have we ever used that tag? It's like the FO doesn't know what that is.

I checked out some sports tracker. Dalton was the 3rd best TE in the NFL for receptions and 5th in the NFL for TDs. He had more TDs than Gronkowski. He also averaged 10.4 yards per catch which makes him a first down machine.

It is one of two things. He is a hall of famer or a Kellen Junk Yard Time Baller.

Which is it?
You know the posters dude. The Cowboys only have one good player worth anything and that is Parsons. Even though half the board thought we drafted another Jaylon.

You're okay giving Schultz top TE money because of 1 good year?

Do you not think he should at least prove that it wasn't a fluke?

Also, he still can't block.

Can some one tell me when Ferguson became prime Witten. I watched some Wisconsin football and Ferguson name was rarely called. When did we draft Ferguson and didn’t Kiper say he will be a career backup. Some on the board think he will be a 60+ pass catcher in 2023.:thumbdown::facepalm:

Can he do that? He signed a contract. It's a one year contract but it's a contract.....

I thought not too long ago Schultz was considered a back up to a 'pre-injury' Jarwin.

I mean, is the dicussion really concerning how Dalton Schultz is supposedly top tier at his position?

Cowboys Zone liking their guys I tell ya, LOL.

Yes. Top 10 tight end and most importantly unlike Jaylon and Zeke, another team would pay him on the open market. He is our second best receiver next to CeeDee.

Exactly. Granted it's not common to use the tag on a player like Schultz, but if they had nobody else they needed it for them why not?
Because you end up paying a 5 million dollar player 11 million dollars.

Peyton Hillis was top 10 for 1 season at his position too lol

The funniest thing bro, is I would even concede to Schultz a 10th highest paid TE salary.

As we know THATS not Jerry's style. Not how he could sell more Schultz jerseys. No, he would rather pay that un deserved top 2 or 3 salary, but even worse yet, possibly with even the most guarantees so that he can fool the public into thinking Jerry paid that guy this much..."He must be that good"

And the vicious contracts overpayment cycle continues.
Many can't see it.

I'd be okay with Schultz being paid somewhere around 7-10ish range too, but the excuse for Dak's horrible contract also applies to other positions too......

Ya know what that excuse is, right? "That's just how the market works".

Were you claiming Schultz was a Top 10 TE when we drafted him in the 4th round?
