Not open to the media. The 1st day of this past session was open to the media, maybe part of the 2nd. The rest was closed.

It will be same for the next one, and probably mini camp as well.

I think they all should be closed to the media. It’s hard to instill new wrinkles on either side of the ball if the media is closely reporting all that. Practices and mini-camps back in the Landry era were almost always closed. The modern NFL is too in love with publicity instead of quality. All teams should have closed practices about 80-90% of the time.

Next dates listed was June 9-10. Is one of those going to be open?
Yeah believe one is one isn’t. I had seen schedule show 6-7 and 9-10 posted on CBS. Thanks to some genorous peeps on here for passing along that it was moved. Turned out a great 81k for charity. :starspin:

McCarthy doesn't like opening up our practices to the world. Remember the numberless scrimmage?

I think these sessions should be closed to the players, I can't believe they expect to be paid millions of dollars AND have their hands held having what they are supposed to do explained to them. Outrageous,

But if they are all closed what would we discuss and argue over?

We won't get the player reports even for 1 day to have any fun with on speculation good and bad. It is already a long enough off-season the way it is. We need the media bias. :muttley:

I am fine with the 1 open day to the media. They are still getting down the basics. Nothing that is not already on film. Unless they are putting in a lot of different stuff. So use a day for that and let them try to fool everyone thinking they are doing the same stuff when in closed sessions they are doing the different wrinkles. They thing is though, they think they are fooling other teams, but they real have not done so for years. The fall back of the 15 years of Garrett / Linehan / Moore crap.

And the real stuff is installed after they break TC, and practice in closed sessions inside the Star.

I wish everything was closed to the media.Although I love knowing exactly what’s going on.If we know what’s happening, other teams know too.Between Jerry being liquored up and blabbing on everything we do and the media reporting everything we do,there’s no “surprises” to the teams we play.I’d like to go into the season w/ some unpredictability about what we’re doing.Better chance to win that way.

That unpredictability stuff come during the week when Moore and Quinn put it the game plans. And as they practice them plays during the week. Behind closed doors.
There is not much they are doing right now that other teams don't know about, and probably don't care at this point. They are more concerned with getting there own teams basics installed.

Unless a team has a new coaching staff and is installing entirely new schemes, then that could be different. But even then, it is getting the basics down first, as all teams do.
