When is our blockbuster FA signing, Stephen?

Lots if fans want a big FA signing
Few mention who that big signing should be
Looking at who’s available I’m failing to see the FA blockbuster people are requesting

JC Tretter would still be a good get, IMO

Will Fuller for a field stretcher
Anthony Barr
Hitchens still out there
Suh
Sheldon Richardson
TY Hilton
Odell, lol

There's a few names that I wouldn't hate still out there.

You have to roll with it, I guess. I have no idea why anyone would want to talk (write) like that, but that's just his thing - trying to sound somewhat British without being British.

Now to the topic, I would say 'don't hold your breath'. In the Jerry world of 'importance' and 'relevancy', an expensive top name signing simply isn't going to happen. We might all agree that a significant signing would tell the masses that they really are interested in building a winner, but that isn't a priority and hasn't been one for many years.

I can see something being done if an injury takes place even with that we may here WE'RE HAPPY WITH OUR GUYS. We will hear later in the year that OBJ is fine, and we will make headline news signing him lol

Fisher or brown would interest me as swing tackle but it looks like they plan on using smith as first option and want to wait a see on other guys on the roster
Fuller is intriguing to me. When healthy he is a real deep threat but rarely healthy. I think a contract that’s cheap with incentives for playing time is a safe option if only till Gallup gets back
Hitch is interesting even as a backup because he can play all 3 spots and is still a productive player
I think at this point they don’t want to bring in a OT and have to cut a Ball or Wally
But there is room for a LB on the roster
And if you got the right kind of deal on fuller the risk is pretty low and he sure brings more to a roster than what we will have deep on the WR depth chart

Who would you sign?
Wagner but since the Rams signed him that's over. The Rams have unlimited funds. Probably some shady deal the owners came up with to draw more money from LA. Equal sharing.

When Gregory ditched the Cowboys are were a couple of studs who could have come in and helped this club with their play and with their knowledge of the game, now we in the bargain basement section AGAIN!

I know, but I am always hopeful until the door is shut. I don't waste energy hating the FO, but rather just support the Cowboys

Is it the “every other year” syndrome? This team hasn’t made the playoffs in back to back in 15 years. Made the playoffs back to back in ‘06-07. Then again in 2014, ‘16, ‘18, and ‘21.

I’ve wondered on occasion if this FO takes a year off here and there. When your job isn’t on the line, it takes away a lot of the pressure to “win now”. In their mind, they always have time to fix things.

Took 25 years off

There is a absolutely a plan in place not to sign a blockbuster free agent.

The Cowboys haven't done that in 10 years since the Carr mistake.

What makes you think they suddenly are going to change their approach now?

I'd like to think a decade of "meh" would change their approach, but when the guys making personnel decisions have jobs-for-life there isn't much pressure. This is especially so as the franchise's value continues to rise regardless of results on the field.

So as fans we'll get what we get, like it or not, and the Jones boys can keep playing the ultimate game of fantasy football in their fancy offices.

Good post, lad.
But I have to say, in that eloquent way I have, the Jerry/Joneses Are Idiots meme falls flat for the Jerry skeptics when you consider what we have: a good if aged O line, 3 good WRs and a competitive-aggressive and hungry D and hiring Quinn as D man.
The dicotomy is thus: A better than average team led by two offensive dolts, Dak and Zeke and heroes of Stephen's fantasy game.

Dallas has already completed their blockbuster signing, Dante Fowler.

Gotta try and be happy with it cuz that's all your gonna get around these parts.
