You have to be in your 30's to remember seeing the Cowboys play in a SB. It has been 26 years since they last got to that game. I have been blessed to have watched all 8 Cowboy Super Bowls including their 5 wins. Our young fans do not really realize how special the first 35 years of Cowboy history really was. You can read about it; you can listing to old coots like me talk about it; but to fully appreciate it you had to live it.

Considering the 20 years or so, this is amazing......

Since 2000, the Cowboys are a bottom 5 NFL franchise.

It feels that way to those of us old enough to remember greatness, but that is not reality. They are actually a top 15 franchise during that time.

The problem is they haven't made a single playoff run. Just a team treading water. They don't drown, but they don't go anywhere either.

The Cowboys regular season and postseason record is 182-177 as I've calculated. I went through every year of that, and yes, that is apparently our record.

Just thought it was an interesting thought.
In the last 21 seasons (since 2000) we have made the playoffs only 8 times. We haven’t been horrible, but only making the playoffs 38% of the time…then only winning 3 WC games…yikes.

I think if I had started following the Cowboys around 2000 that I would have quit. It's the '70s teams and the '90s teams that keep me hanging on and hoping.

Of course, maybe it has the opposite effect on newer fans. You've never really seen this team be much more than mediocre, so you have no standard of greatness to compare it to while others remember the what it used to mean to be a Cowboys fan.

I agree that it is amazing that Dallas is still up there with SB wins and appearances even though they have done squat the past 26 years. Just says a lot about what great teams they had before you know, Jones thought he could play GM and win his way. Sad for those who began watching at that time. My condolences.

I'm just hoping that Quinn is able to keep building up the defence to where, between that and Dak, we can make a real run at it all.

I was born in 1992, so I don’t have many memories of Cowboys greatness

so jerry has been selling you hope, that this is the year, for 22 years lol.
he does a good job with the sell hope formula. It works and your living proof.

I used to buy it but lost that hope and desire during the JG decade, JG just deflated me.

You got to see the whole romo era, which was fun to watch at least. I enjoyed the romo years, not so much with dak.
tony was way more fun to watch than dak. I dont really care he didnt win the big games, those were team losses, and tony
was always fun to watch during the seasons.

As for that record, if you look at other teams, you will probably see something similar or worse, except for the patriots and GB.

Dallas has had a bunch of ok seasons, they just have done poorly in the playoffs.
Compile their playoff record for that same period, and it wont be good lol.
