Why not grab Baker Mayfield? Dak may not be the answer

You are blinded by the dak PR machine . Baker , when healthy can do much better than Dak. As Captain Crash said, put Dak in the Cleveland roster which went 1-36 before baker, and then make the comparison.
Dak has enjoyed playing in the NFC East, the worst division in the nfl , for too long . Nothing to show for it.

I WATCH football outside of Dallas, there is no way anyone who actually watched Baker play suggest he would be a replacement for Dak. I suggest watching more football on Sundays. Unless you are related to Ms. Cleo, no one knows what would happen if Dak was in Cleveland. So I don’t play that what if game.

Many NFL executives and owners want to trade and get baker but don't want to give the browns an out after that monster stupid contract they gave deshaun .
I seriously doubt that. Why would executive care about what happens to browns. It's not vengence. Each team is worried about it their own roster. This was very TMZ type response.

If Baker is the answer, what is the question?
I knew OU won that game at Columbus. I was wrong thinking the buckeyes beat them later in the CFB playoff but it was Georgia instead. My mistake.

Btw, the Dak vs Mayfield matchup where cle won in 2020…Dak was 41-58, 502 YDS, 4 TD, 1 INT. Mayfield was 19-30-165, 2 TD. The browns ground game killed the Cowboys not Mayfield. Cowboys gave up over 300 yds rushing and 2 fumbles, one by Zeke.
most of Dak yards in this game and many similar , were in futile desperate comeback attempts , when the other team had already secured the win by halftime. A model we haver seen with Dak against many many teams , all end up in losses. see the broncos and cardinals and many other games in Dak's career. We are tired of losses with dak. He just does not have the ability to overcome adversity during games. He is a one trick pony. if his main reciever is not open it is panic time and fumbles and wild throws.

no defense fears dak , and by the way no team would have paid him 40 mil . We are seeing what dak can do ... he folds. Dak in cleveland would have been toast by year 1 .

Most teams want to wait and get better deals anyway.
Not many teams would pay for dak half what the cowboys are giving him. Jerry probably knows he made a dangerous mistake , but it is PR and Jersy sales . Same as the contract for Zeke. Both are overpaid.

Dak is significantly better than Baker, and regardless of how you feel about his skill pretty much everyone agrees Dak is good teammate and leader of men. Baker is neither of those things.
dak took a humming offense and is driving it downward , 1 playoff win in 6 seasons. By the way baker took a 1-36 team and took them to a more recent palyoff away win a year and some ago . Dak would have been toast in cleveland from year 1. Dak is a nice boy and an average overpaid QB. no thanks ,. we want a difference maker. Dak is not . Just watch the next season , the excuses with dak are becoming old.

Dak may not be the answer?

What's the question?

Dak and the Cowboys have made a very expensive commitment. How are they going to pay both QB's? Even the "dead" money from cutting or trading him would be prohibitive.

If Dak suddenly regresses completely then we can talk about it next season but it is too late for this season. Anyway, if Dak was that bad then the Cowboys are that bad and they will most likely deserve a top pick in the draft. Next draft is supposed to be QB rich in the 1st round.

Yes when healthy he is better than dak , who i think has peaked and on the decline.
Have you watched mayfield lead the browns to a big win at the cowboys home turf ? or Mayfield win a playoff game on the road ( which dak does not have on his resume) , and i watched baker beat Joe Borough and cincinati at their stadium big time the year before. When healthy , he can be a bargain at 15-20 mil.

You need help...lo

This guy is beyond debate.
He is in his doomed trench and he ain't budging.
No matter how much it damages him.

wait, you spun this from nobody wants Mayfield to now something about Dak contract....

you said teams are waiting to stick to browns for contract they gave to Watson.....and that Mayfield has lots of suitors.....or something to that effect...

what does this have to do with Mayfield. who sucks....my nickname for him is Suckyfield. kind of suits him. his career is about to turn into a bouncing ball, from one team to another to another and in next couple of years to primary back up.

what the heck does nobody wanting mayfield have to do with Dak's contract!!!!

that was a reach.....I mean a REACH....I mean a REACH

I believe baker at a reasonable 15-20 million contract will be a far better option for the cowboys in the next 4-6 years than Dak .
Mayfield can ignite this offense and make better use of the receivers and OL we have .
Not to mention that dak has become injury prone, and has wild inconsistencies and slumps during the season.

I wouldn't have a problem adding him for a late-round pick ... as a backup. Trouble is, Mayfield is likely looking to go somewhere where he has a chance of starting, and Cleveland is likely looking for better compensation.

Idk seems like the excuses keep coming from your end.

The most important aspect of being a QB is being a leader, and just so I'm clear... Baker is not a better leader than Dak. Just because Baker took a bad franchise to the playoffs doesn't mean he's a good leader.

Just when things didn't go his way, what happened? He gave up. And from reading some of the post in here, he has a rep for doing so.

Do you really want that kind of guy leading your team?

Neither of them are what you want, but Dak is the better of the two.

Let's put this point blank: There is no savior in your situation.
I dont know corso, baker won the last game they played.

And as far as Stats go, we all know Dak is the nfl champ when it comes to stats lol.

But really as I keep saying, it is hard to compare QB's or say 1 is better than another.
They all work with diff coaches and players.

If dak used his legs more and slid instead of being tackled, he would not have got hurt, and that added to his overall potential.
Now Dak is mainly a passing qb, and he just isnt that good of a passer. I dont know about baker, as I havent seen him play but like 2-3 games.

As a backup maybe, me lad.
He's not NFL material as of now. With expert coaching and work he can turn heads, elsewhere.

do you want me to list for you the games dak looked abysmal ?? or his 23% awful winning record against good teams ? . Dak enjoyed playing at the worst division in the NFL . Baker at one of the strongest. You just watch the coming season. Splitting hairs won't work. Dak's failures are all over his mediocre record. After getting paid 42 mil a year , and the defense playing much better last season, and after 6 years the parade of excuses has to end for dak.

I never said Dak was a world beater. Furthermore, this discussion isn't about whether Dak is better than Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers or Brady. It's about whether he's better than Baker Mayfield.
I believe Dak is. I think Dak has his flaws. I have criticized him for them.
But, again, you raised the comparison between Dak and Mayfield.
Mayfield has had a better defense, better running backs, better offensive line and arguably better receivers than Dak. In fact, some were suggesting the Browns were simply a quarterback away from the Super Bowl before Baker got to Cleveland. And yet ... Baker hasn't been able to get it done.
And what's so telling is that the Browns are ready to walk away from their No. 1 overall draft pick of the 2018 draft and gamble with Deshaun "Rub Me Right" Watson, who may not see a meaningful snap in quite some time.
The Browns want NOTHING to do with the first overall draft pick at the most important position on the field. And apparently, no other team even wants to sniff him at his current salary, which any team thinking he's worth anything would gladly pay for a $20 million quarterback if he had something, anything.
That's extremely telling about what other franchise and the Browns think of Baker's ability.
For all of Dak's flaws, the Cowboys organization isn't trying to oust him.
I appreciate your thread, but you're wrong on this one, buddy.
