Biadasz job to lose. Dont act like this is an open competition.

And you still havent answered my question about Farniok. What has this guy done to receive so much praise? Peronally I think its just some fans not liking Biadasz and hoping it happens. Farniok has shown NOTHING since he has been here to warrant praise.

We dont get a chance to see what hes done but the coaches have and they seem very happy about his progress. McCarthy said same about Steele early last year

The drafting emphasis thing is amazing. Love it and they are succeeding at it. But you have to use FA as well to not only speed up the process but fill in the gaps for a run.

That's the problem with this draft only approach building a team......you are always going to have some holes in the dam that need plugging, you can't keep waiting until next year to fill them. Others will pop up by then. FA needs to be used at that time so as not to waste player's careers doing this year after year. Time waits for no man.

Just 5? What about WR2 to start the season and 3 and 4 after that?

And what about QB? I have seen more than several options to Prescott suggested here.

  • DE: Rotational position in Quinn's defense.
  • DT: Rotational position in Quinn's defense.
  • Safety: They used 3 Safeties on 40% of snaps in 2021.
  • RT: Steele has the job locked up for 2022.
  • OC: Farniok will challenge Biadasz for the starting spot.
A bigger question than any of those positions, is Swing Tackle.
This is a article that’s a prime example of a lazy writer
The real questions on offense are the swing and the only competition is center and that probably is not as competitive as some think
Starting means very little when you have a rotation
Safety hasn’t changed
The roster questions are about depth for the most part and the numbers at each position

1 - lamb
2- gallup
3 - washington
4- tolbert
5- noah brown

and mind you, that gallup has somewhat of a injury trend and tendency. ..i would think six WRs, even if that means carrying a 6th WR on inactive game day

I hope Wright shows something. Joseph is an L to me until proven otherwise.

Shows otherwise on the field or off?

Cause when he played he was good. Wasn’t a ton of snaps but started two games and got good snaps in the Falcons game as well. Looked really fluid and physical on tape and his metrics/PFF grades were good.

We gotta see more obviously but on the field he didn’t look like a bad pick. Off the field is where we gotta hope he learns from this mistake.

I certainly hope the Cowboys have an honest competition for the starting C role. I said last year Farniok will win the starting C job at some point this season and I am sticking to that feeling. He is one of a few players I really want to see in the preseason games. I have no idea what kind of work ethic he has but if he is a hard worker I do think he will get better enough to beat out Biadasz.

According to both Jerry and Ben Grimaldi (the writer) Steele isn't a lock to be secure as a starter at RT. Both Ball and Waletzko are in the running to compete with him for that honor. Jerry had stated previously that an experienced OT wasn't destined to be in the Cowboys' plans this year, according to Grimaldi. This is the first I've heard of that. It'll be fun for sure.

It does appear that Steele must overcome the challenges of those two to retain his job at RT. Despite Steele having the experience, Ball and Waletzko will challenge. May the best man win! This battle should provide an interesting facet of training camp. We'll be obliged keep up. Let the battle begin -- all three should benefit from the experience. Ah lak it a lawt. :D
Steele is your starter.
No oner really believes otherwise.
They booted La'el because they believed in Steele.
As XW mentions Swing is the real question mark. --tho it is really Tyler Smith longer term.

Jerry talks a lot but little of it is based upon reality.
It would be a massive chock is someone unseats Steele.

We actually might be better off if Farniok actually won the job outright. That would mean that he is better than Biadasz. That would be amazing.
There is serious potential for these type of camp battles this season to turn over a starting gig.
Center is open game IMO, Biadasz needs to bring his best effort.

I agree with your statements. My caveat would be that Ball (4th) & Waletzko (5th) are draft picks whereas Steele was a UDFA. Ball in particular was rated much higher than a 4th round talent (I understand the off field concerns). So, it would not shock me if he were able to make it a competition (I would honestly be disappointed if he didn't put some doubt in the coaches mind). Even though he didn't play last year he was still around pro football and working with the trainers so he won't be coming into the season completely raw.

It remains to be seen if there's an open competition or not. Both Ball and Waletzko will be given that privilege, according to Jerry. How the impending competition ends remains to be seen.

La'el got the boot La'el because he proved he was unfit to continue. His unacceptable conduct and his declining performance at RT was, obviously, a huge factor in that decision. The fact that Steele has improved his play works in his favor, of course. Jerry expressed his intentions already. Whether he's taken seriously or not is up to the public.

Since Steele has the advantage of experience, it, in turn, gives him a heads up on the available competition. Nothing is set in stone, like it or not. It would be an obvious mistake to handle it any other way. The final results are yet to be determined. May the best man win.

Cowboys have played Ball at LT in OTAs as they get him reps toward being the Swing tackle and Waletzko is a rookie. Steele is as safe but as he isn't truly a returning starter sure he'll have to win a job if that makes you and Jerry feel better....
The Cowboys didn't even sign a stop gap vet swing tackle.
They are quite confident in Steele and Tyler Smith.

You seem intent upon relating things about these players that I already know. Yet, I've already made it clear that I'm aware of what's going on with this situation with both Steele, Ball and our rookie, Waletzko. I'm sorry to hear you're so upset with the idea that there will be competition between Steele and those also vying for competition at OT. I've already made it clear that Steele is in the driver's seat with regards to being the starter at RT. Sorry if I can't guarantee you that Steele will end up as our starter, despite the fact that there will be competition there. I think he'll be our starter in the end, just like most of us. Try to lighten up, OK? Why can't you handle the fact that there'll be competition? It's benefits everyone.

A bigger question than any of those positions, is Swing Tackle.

The five I would have picked would be:
  1. Linebacker #2 - When Micah is rushing or Kearse is playing safety
  2. Center - Straight up battle between Farniok and Biadasz
  3. CB #2 - Three way battle between Brown, Joseph, Wright
  4. WR #3 - Tolbert and Washington front runners but Brown has slowly been developing and Fehoko looks better than last season.
  5. RDE - It's rotational but how they rotate needs to be clarified

I don't think we have a swing tackle. I think whenever a tackle goes out we are shifting a guard and bringing in McGovern.

Really ? i've been reading Ball playing exclusively at RT. .. it's been Matt Matt Waletzko at LT, along with Tyler ...
