yeh ,.. Diggs back to WR again- that's a crazy idea.
i guess this is the " lets talk crazy " time of season. :p

- Let Diggs concentrate solely on improving his skills and craft at CB.
He still has a few holes in his game that he needs to shore up.
This is exactly the time we need strong looks at Vashar, Brandon Smith and Simi Fehoko primary

- If you need a WR that badly, its' time for Stephen to sign a vet guy until we
can get our healthy WR squad again.

I know who Diggs is, and I know Prime never got 11 picks in a season.

You name me 4 Wrs/TEs on the Cowboys better than Diggs to have attempting to catch a hail mary pass.

Fair point and ur probly right so why not trade or sign someone?

Sounds crazy but I'm talking about 3-5 plays a game on offense.

He was a WR in high school with back to back thousand yard seasons his junior and senior year.

At the most recent Pro Bowl competitions, Diggs won 1st place in a receiving contest and was the only defensive player in the competition.

Perhaps he shares some of the same attributes as a 1st team All Pro and one of the most prolific receivers in the present day NFL, none other than his brother.

Just another potential weapon for occasional sit Stefon.

I believe he has legitimate receiving skills and could help the Cowboys in certain situations. He's got great hands and is extremely competitive. His experience as a 1st team All Pro cornerback could help him against his defensive opponents.

If the Cowboys feel like they don't have sufficient WR talent in certain situations, perhaps Diggs could help them. It doesn't have to be a designed play for him but he would still have to be considered a legitimate threat and i think he would be.

Four receiver sets, Hail Mary passes into the endzone at the end of a half, and 3rd and long plays are situations where he may be able to help, any play where good hands are critical.Again, I'm not talking about any kind of leading role, just another option to consider.
We ran a play with T-New back in the day.

How is he slow?
Only person I saw really cook him was DK and of course he’s just a freak of nature lol.
right hes not his makeup speed says otherwise. his issues getting burned are double moves not Straightline speed,.. he allows many wrs to appear open by letting them get cushion to bait QBs and then closes on the ball fast and also if burned ive seen him catch-up many times. guys not slow at all.

If Diggs is better at WR than Tolbert or James Washington then there is a problem.

If they need another WR, they'll use Pollard and use more 2 TE sets.

From a practice perspective, I think having a DB spend a week or two of camp at WR would be a good option. Veteran DBs are always looking for any small detail that might benefit their game.

Definitely having Pollard practice all off-season at WR would be beneficial. A RB that can run the full route tree and has a true WR understanding of the offense, is a great asset. It forces defenses to respect that player as a WR. The Cowboys had Diggs up in the box when Deebo was at RB. That is not good for run defense.

I honestly think that if he played it 100 percent of the time, he could be a starting WR on this team. The thing is, he's a great corner.. and those don't grow on trees. So he's likely more valuable there. But Diggs has great ball skills, and great change in speeds, so he knows how angles and change of speed works. You don't want players playing both ways in the pros. It's too much to ask of them and could hurt your team. But if he wasn't so good at defense, I can see him being very good on offense. I can also see them doing these things everyone once in a while, in Moore's more gimmicky-style plays. Just not all the time.

I would love to see Parsons get some reps in the slot, or at RB, FB. etc. If he's any good at it, why not? I also think Diggs can play. But this isn't something you do all the time. Maybe one a season. Or something.

Who knows though. I'm stoked to have Diggs on my team. I view him as probably the team's most underrated player.

The reason people talk about this is obviously because it's the offseason. And Diggs' brother is one of the best receivers in the league.

Then Parsons, well, you can can picture him playing almost any position. 246 pounds and runs a stinking 4.3, which is faster than most WRs. Plus his tenacity; it's hard not to imagine.

Plus, he really does want to play offense. If they could manage it without it hurting his play on defense, I'm all for it. But I don't think that's the case. So I don't see it happening, not a significant amount at least.

I thought the “ 2 way “ player went out with CB radios and Jerry swooping into town buying the whole outfit . This is a June pre pre season type talk .

No I want Diggs studying his DQ manual that says 11 int’s is a nice haul glad you were sitting in round 2 to draft .

If he had been a top 2 receiver on his college team, he would have stayed at WR...

It made sense to try it with Deion because he is arguably the greatest athlete in the history of football.
- Even with Deion, it was as impactful as fans had hoped.
- He made some highlight plays, but overall it wasn't better than having a legit #3 WR.

Diggs success is not from "out athlete-ing" WRs.
- His advantage is on the mental side of the game.
- He "sees the field" and obviously studies film to know the tendencies of WRs and QBs.
- Quinn gave him the freedom to play the high risk style of under-cutting WRs.
- He plays within the scheme and knows where is help is located (or should be located).
- They actually gave him more help from the Free Safety than they gave to Brown on the other side.
- If you review the big plays allowed by Diggs, the FS was usually right there and it was debatable if it was on Diggs or the FS.
- When you review big plays allowed by Brown, the FS was often no where in sight.

Parsons is in the rare Deion, Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders type of 1 of a kind athlete.
- It almost defies physics to see him get under the pads of a 320 pound OG and push him backwards.
- Then on the next play cover a WR on a 9-route.
- He could likely be a super star RB, WR or TE. He could play CB or Safety. He already plays LB and DE.
- The issue is that they were on the verge of wearing him out last year.
- He was showing signs of fatigue at times in the last few games.
- He plays a position that has the 2nd shortest career on average (RB is 1st).
- LBs routinely go against OL that outweigh them by 60 to 80 pounds. That eventually takes a toll.

It made sense with Deion back in the day because Deion had 4.2 speed that could take the top off the defense. If nothing else his speed demanded deep help which opened things for Irvin, Kevin Williams, and Kelvin Martin.

Trevon Diggs is more like a 4.55-4.58 guy. No defensive coordinator in the league is worried about Diggs at WR.

Yes, let him take some hits on offense because we are so deep in our defensive secondary and we can spate him and because we just don't have enough WRs.

The cross training at WR would probably do him good as a CB. Probably would be a good addition to a bunched Hail Mary.

When was the last time you saw a college player actually play both ways?

Agree that Parsons could play RB, WR and TE.. Just not all at once. lol

I don't think Diggs or Parsons should be full-time on offense, but I personally think they could both contribute. It's just that the best aspect of this team is our defense, imo. So you don't want to take away from the defense.

If it gets better this year, which I think it does, we will have a team that can compete in the playoffs.

And I'm 95% sure we'll make the playoffs next year.

Parsons at TE would be fun if we are going to have two way players.
