What would have a healthy Romo done in 2016?

I'm not mad that they stuck with the hot hand, but a lot of people like to believe that they stuck with Dak because he was better than Romo. He wasn't at all.

They were just trying to keep the hot hand rolling and I didn't have a problem with it.

Looking back I bet they wish they went back to Romo, but oh well, what is done is done.

Yeah I guess that was what I was kind of saying also. I did not blame them for staying with Dak at the time, but man I sure do think we win that game against GB with Tony.
Because the play calling would have been different and GB would not have been as prepared.

By 2016, Romo was made of porcelain and balsa wood. He literally could not take normal NFL hits without hurting his back or breaking a collarbone. By 2016, Tony Romo could not be counted on to stay healthy. The first ability all NFL players must have is availability.

Tony Romo was a very good NFL QB. If he had been playing in a better NFL organization that knew how to build a roster around him, he probably would have had a better career. Sadly, Romo is overrated in Dallas because he was one of the few players we had in his era that gave us any kind of hope to win. But his prime years were wasted with things like the 2009 draft, Wade Phillips, the Roy Williams WR trade, etc.

My prediction of 2016 with Romo is we would have lost to the pack in round one anyway.

When your franchise QB gets taken out for the year on a routine scramble, it's time to end the suffering. I loved the guy to death and supported him, but moving on was the right choice. Fans can play the "what if" game and make guarantees, but the staff choice to press on with Prescott.

Bottom line, if you can't stay on the field, you're not the better player.

To me the bigger question is how would we have done in the playoffs with a healthy Romo.

Obviously he wasn’t healthy to play most of 2016 season. He certainly looked sharp in his brief appearance against Philly.

We probably would have beat GB. I belive the majority of their backfield was injured that year. Romo would have picked them apart with ease.

Don't think we make it past Atlanta. They were as dominant as any team could be that year in the playoffs until well the epic meltdown

He would have been failed by the Jones's once again not providing him with a complete team just like he did every other year.

The bigger story is why we didn’t go back to Romo once he was healthy. And why that decision was made.

You Romoloving Dak haters are the absolute worst!

Y'all have ruined this forum today.

So glad the Jones' and Cowboys don't listen to you.

The fact we hadn’t had more success with Romo in the prior playoffs ultimately swayed those making the decision.

If they had benched our hot hand who was cooling off near the end of season and still come up short with Romo, MGMT would have been severely bashed .

It was more acceptable to lose with Dak than with Romo again. They went with the popular public perception.

And it might have cost them a shot at their first championship appearance this era. We’ll never know.

Since Prescott didn’t lose that game against GB, they don’t go any further.
No, but he didn’t win it either. The other QB won it given the opportunity.

Tough giving up 3rd and 20 by the defense. But the fact our QB missed a wide open receiver in endzone on prior possession provided that opportunity for our defense to fail us.

I don’t blame Dak but when you have a suspect defense you have to maximize your strength which was our offense.

If you can't stay on the field, the next guy is the better option 100% of the time.

The team came out flat and went down 3-21

They committed to dak and didnt want to offend him by letting tony play out that season.
Stephen looked at daks salary and his eyes got as big as the moon ! then he smiled and said we have to go with dak!

had they gone with tony they might have won a SB, we will never know.
I guess jones boys didnt care about the no rookie ever winning a sb thing.
