Ok tired of the baker thread, but in it someone brought up jimmy, and he also beat dallas in wc game.
He wouldnt be that expensive would he ? maybe a 1 year deal?
just imagine dak having to compete with JG in TC!

And I will be clear , I am NOT saying he is better than dak, I would put them in similar category,
only jimmy has won more play off games.

Then of course dak would start the season, but if he struggles, or he needs a couple games off,
they would have a capable bkup to take over.
Also it would probably light a fire under dakko !

As it is with just rush and dinucci, as bkups, dak is relaxed and can just coast , sit in a chair with one
of those drinks with a umbrella ! He has absolutely no competition right now.

I also think it would be fun to see JG play with dallas, dont know how well he would do, but it would be
fun to watch?

Any other qb's for bkup and potential starter? what about heineke?
not gonna happen , but its good fantasy discussion !

I would prefer Jimmy G over Prescott, he's far better value at the QB position, but sadly it isn't going to happen. Jimmy G is easily a starter in this league and a good one at that - he has been QB of a team that has won a lot of games and reached a Superbowl. Wins are a team stat but his team mates like him and he has been a part of a team that has won a lot including in the play offs.

The front office gave Prescott a huge contract (restructured as well) plus a no trade clause. We are stuck with him for at least 2 more seasons.

Is jimmy going to be the starter at SF in 22?
I thought there was some debate on that. Is his contract up?

I'd prefer Jimmy G over Dak because Jimmy G will not try and be something he's not, like Dak does.

I believe Jimmy G would play like a better version of the 2016 Dak (Dak's best season) and we'd have more success for that.

With that said, I do not believe Dak or Jimmy G is the answer.

Let me be clear: Jimmy Garrapolo IS better than Dak, and for that reason Dak would fight having him in Dallas with all his might.
Why do you think the only backups are guys that couldn't last anywhere else?
Dak needs to be gone and Jimmy Garrapolo SHOULD be the starter.

Sorry, but Dak's contract says "no refunds, no exchanges."

And Jerry doesn't like pressure on his starter. Instead, you try to make things Romo/Dak friendly.

And if Dak gets knocked out of a game, just hope Cooper Rush and Ben DiNucci can keep it close enough to squeeze out a winning fg at the end.

These threads crack me up.
Like it or not we stuck with Dak...that’s a fact.
Kinda like having a car that you may not be happy with and you see other rides that you like but no way your trading because you paid too dayum much for the car to begin with and you're buried upside down in the payments......

yeah it is just fun to talk "WHAT IF" jones boys are in a rut with dak mike kellen tyronS lawrence elliot. etc
They wont do the work to get rid of any of those guys anytime soon.

If I was owner or gm I could get rid of dak this summer. contract wouldnt matter.
I would make him so mad or miserable he would accept a trade, and he could have a say in which team of the ones that are interested.
I would bring in garapolo or someone else.
elliot I would try but doubt any team would take him at his price, so might just make him the bkup rb, or certain situations.
I would also bring in another rb , a cheap one for 1 season.
Tyron I dont know, I might make him bkup and just try to save him for playoffs.
kellen, I would bring in a real OC if I could find one, and make kellen his assistant.
Mike himm might have to stay with him, but I might offer a OC like kc OC the HC job and call plays.

shake it up! liven things up !
Jones boys are so boring , they just stay the course, and it is a bad course!

Love him or hate him Dak is the QB for the next two seasons at minimum. It's just nearly impossible to get out of the contract until then, Jerry isn't going to pay Dak to play backup QB this year, plus you bring in serious competition for Dak and that locker room becomes just as divided on Dak as this board is.

I'm not a Dak fanboy, but it's time to accept the reality of our QB situation, and focus more on how the Cowboys can best position him for success at this point. Replacement talk didn't die but certainly went on life support when he signed the new deal.

No offense man but you know that’s true fantasy football when discussing this team and how it’s ran....only thing we gonna get is more of the same, rinse and repeat. It’s becoming a bit difficult to be a fan of this team however it could always be worse. We could be Texan fans....:(

yeah thats why I pick a few other teams each year to root for, and follow them and if they ,make playoffs I root for them.

I was for TB the year they won the SB, so I have had a recent SB win !! lol I also rooted for seattle the year they beat denver so SB # 2
and I used to root for NE when brady was there so more SB's !
I have had more fun doing that than following the cowboys, I just still enjoy talking about cowboys.

dude avg'd 150 yards passing zero tds and a pick in each of their wins this post season. and that's w/ kittle and deebo lol. there's a reason they traded 3 first round picks for a project

Why not? Because the entire premise is impossible. The Cowboys are not in position, contractually, to move on from Dak even if they wanted to. Which they don't.

Jimmy G is a mid-tier starter at best that needs even more than Dak does to be successful; and this roster isn't the 49ers. How many NFL front offices would rate Garopollo over Dak? Jimmy G is the better value, but just like everything else, you get what you pay for.
