My understanding is the 49ers are slightly conflicted in that they are reluctant to move on from Jimmy G as the team came very close to winning a Superbowl and reaching another with him at QB. But they gave up a lot to draft Lance and surely in doing so they need to give him his chance sooner rather than later.

He played pretty well in the post season just gone regardless of what the box score says. He made a lot of key throws to move the chains. How many play off games has Prescott won over the past 6 years?

Jimmy G and Baker are about the same thing. Neither is as good as Dak and both would be too expensive to be one year backups on a team that isn't likely to win a SB this year regardless of who is at QB this year. And that's ignoring the drama aspect which I don't personally want any part of

I think this would make great competition in camp. Dak is better, but the competition would keep Dak on his toes and Jimmy G. would be a pretty good back up for us.

lol no he didn't, the only game he played somewhat decently in, they lost. guy sucks. I'm not entertaining the Dak portion because it's irrelevant. Jimmy would not be a good qb for our football team independent of anything else

If I was owner or gm I could get rid of dak this summer. contract wouldnt matter.
I would make him so mad or miserable he would accept a trade, and he could have a say in which team of the ones that are interested.

If he was so good why are the 49ers trying to trade him?
Teams don’t move on from their QB who’s is good unless they are rebuilding and the 49ers aren’t rebuilding

I think the new wave for some is to replace your own good quarterback with quarterbacks that other teams are trying to get rid of and replace, like Baker and Jimmy G.
