I think there’s a possibility they could not all agree or have a fallout and sell out at some point after Jethro is 6 feet under. Tough for siblings to all agree on same path.

This was living out their daddy’s dream not there’s.

Never know. There’s several billionaires who could afford. And by the time he dies there will be more.

Back in 1989 we thought it would be Mavs or Lakers owner who bought us until an unknown emerged.

broncos just sold for what was it 4.5 or 5.5. Either way Dallas would sell for at least 150% of that 6.75 or 8.25 whatever the number actually was I don't remember which they said. who has that kind of disposable income?

There’s nothing in recent years that would predict it’s going to change.

If you have any data to support your claims , I’m all ears.

Until then Texas has to plan for this growth to continue.

I’m not disputing the data, I’m just being cautious before confirming the DFW is going to surpass Chicagoland in population growth when we need the population of two major cities to do so. The world and the economy can change in ways that the data you pulled is not considering.

Also, you do realize Chicago never had two NFL teams. Even before the DFW was a threat to surpass the area in population. Why is the third ranked metro DFW more worthy of having two NFL teams than Chicago?

That’s the best point you’ve made. Chicago as third largest metro area hasnt had two teams in recent history , only two MLB teams.

But they did have 2 teams until 1960 who became the Stl Cardinals now in Arizona.

According to World Atlas there’s over 2,208 billionaires in the world.

We’ve also seen groups purchase professional franchises as well. The Cowboys original owner Murchison had some minority partners.

Yea and the Texans and Cowboys played in the same city for like 3 years until the Texans moved to Kansas City. We’re speaking about post AFL/NFL merger NFL.

Here’s a variable that may alter projections. Due to the rising gas prices, is there a worse place to live in America than DFW right now? Im speaking of how spread out everything is. Phoenix is similar in that regard. I live in Arlington and work in Las Colinas. I’m currently spending almost $150 on gas a week. There is no transit system in Tarrant county besides buses in Fort Worth and that Trinity Railway train thing that goes to both downtowns. Now, I’m not saying gas will be a major factor in population growth, but it also wasn’t a factor in the data projections you presented.

Most people don’t realize that by 2026, Fort Worth will exceed Dallas in population. Dallas is completely landlocked while FW has continued to grow its geographic boundaries.

Dallas has a population of approximately 1.3 million while Ft. Worth is just under 1 million. The geographical square mileage of FW already exceeds Dallas. Ft. Worth is now the 12th largest city in the US and Dallas is 9th. The combined population of the Dallas-FW metro area is approximately 8.3 million, making it the the 4th largest metro area in the US behind NY, LA, and Chicago.

Bottom line- this metro area could easily handle another pro football team.

Fortunately Jethro doesn’t have the last word. And new expansion franchises or even an existing one relocating only requires 75% approval of NFL owners.
get over your "Jethro," hatred and be realistic. Jerry is right, and no way in hell is Dallas getting a 2nd team.

what's the average there? Where I'm at it's 6.10-6.50 this is unsustainable.

Jerry doesn't even want a third team in Texas, much less a second one in Dallas. Why would he?
I don't blame him. I don't know about a 3rd in Texas, but I don't want a second NFL team in Dallas, and that has nothing to do with any personal feelings for or against Jerry Jones. I don't think it's a good idea for the Cowboys or for Dallas.

Totally agree, Jerry is indeed right about this matter and one's personal hatred for Jerry should not be a factor.

True and in all fairness he was very supportive of the Texans coming on board, in effect who replacing the Oilers.

Fortunately? Does that mean you want another NFL franchise in Dallas? Not a real Cowboys fan, are you?

I laughed when I read about the Dallas mayor and the second Dallas team. . Not that its surprising to see yet another clueless politician out of his depth. I guess when you cant solve real problems, its easy to turn to sports and leisure.
