Fortunately? Does that mean you want another NFL franchise in Dallas? Not a real Cowboys fan, are you?
What makes you say that ? I think it would be great for North Texas to have a second NFL team.

And I’ve been a fan of the Cowboys since their inception even though they weren't the first professional football team in Dallas.

I was a fan of both teams and would be again.

get over your "Jethro," hatred and be realistic. Jerry is right, and no way in hell is Dallas getting a 2nd team.
This doesn’t have anything to do with Jethro or the Cowboys. This is about promoting Dallas and North Texas. Maybe something those not living in or from this area wouldn’t understand .

I think it would be cool to have an AFC team here. I want more football.

When we become the third largest metro area in US it would be bragging rights for our city and metro area to have 2 teams in NFL.

“Well, I like the mayor,” Jones told Calvin Watkins. “I like him personally, but he doesn’t have the depth. He doesn’t have the knowledge that others have regarding how unique Dallas is and how we enjoy the interest in the Cowboys. He wouldn’t want to water that down as it relates to Dallas if he knew as much, and has spent as much time in sports as I have.”

I’m surprised Jerry didn’t “ask” for his resignation lol

The Cowboys weren’t the first professional team in Dallas, the KC Chiefs were.

I’d rather be able to brag about out school districts or something more tangible.

Right. I remember when they first went to Super Bowl I and then winning Super Bowl IV thinking that should have been Dallas.

We have plenty of those to brag about in North Texas as it’s arguably the greatest high school football in a state know for Friday Night lights.

This isn’t just about Dallas. It’s about the entire metro area.

The new team wouldn’t have to be in Dallas. The current one isn’t.

I hope they do it just because Jerry don't want them too.
This isn’t about Jethro or the Cowboys. This is about promoting Dallas metro area and North Texas as it becomes 3rd largest market in US.

Obviously there’s enormous support for an average or mediocre franchise this era even with the areas most hated sports personality. No reason not to believe it could support 2 teams,

It's about Jerry to me.

If it will upset Jerry a little then I'm all for it.

But Jerry, he does seem to believe that your team lacks the motivation to win.
A bit of healthy competition in football's heartland may not be the worst plan.

It's also a vote winner... 'Jerry sort your Cowboys out, Dallas wants a winner'.
Metropolitan size won't matter, as per capita: Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas and USA....the Cowboys are possibly insurmountable as a brand and indelibly linked to the promotion of the city and state.
The message is: you Jerry are the Gatekeeper of the state's Crown Jewel, use it or we'll find an alternative....he knows this is an idle threat, how do you compere with sports wealthiest franchise....but he sure can pressurise it.

Of course he would ....... Guy knows he could not compete if that team was headed by an actual football guy or just a competent front office who would hire one.

Dallas natives, much less Texan natives, are not gonna side step " America's team " for a new expansion NFL team in Dallas.
City of Dallas just flat blew it many, many years ago, by having the wrong mayor at the wrong time (L. Miller) when Jerry was initially looking at a site in the city of Dallas.

Jerry simply took town in the city of Arlington. And it's been ATT Stadium which host several events - profits that could have - should have
went to city of Dallas.

It would be awesome to see an expansion second Dallas team win a super bowl. Can you imagine the spin from big and little enos?

Dallas obviously in record revenue fashion is supporting their most hated sports personality who owns their favorite team with mediocre results this era.

No reason not to believe there’d be enough support for another football franchise.

Not sure why some want to make this about our owner or the Cowboys. This is about promoting Dallas metro area and North Texas not pissin on Jethro or the Cowboys.

LMAO, I don’t think the mayor likes Booger.
Nobody likes Jethro. Not breaking news . The line is long. Lol

I certainly didn’t have any take away from Mayors presentation this had much if anything to do with Cowboys but more about promoting Dallas and metro area.

Agree but I do not think DFW would support two teams. I think it is a stretch for LA to do that unless they are true contenders. Chicago doesn’t have two.
