well, this was an on field issue. Do we want the jones family in the office or on the field? But yeah I’m fine throwing some blame on jerry. Maybe this wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t planning for a soccer game.
The GM is the head banana and is responsible for the entire operation good or bad.

Did you read what they got hit for last year. Things like tempo, intensity, contact and going to the ground. It’s not like he had them out there doing Oklahoma drills. Earlier in the thread I did get a laugh out of us doing it again. Maybe we go for a 3 peat next year.
It’s like penalties. They watch us more closely, and never miss an opportunity to screw us. Remember Zeke getting a six game suspension for basically nothing? Deshaun Watson has MULTIPLE charges, and the NFLPA is going to bat for him! Don’t tell ME there’s no bias!

Seriously, what's Mike supposed to do? This is bull****. All he did was have the team practice. Is he supposed to just say no OTAs, see you at Training Camp?

So in other words, no information then. What a media guy says is good enough for you. Just like he'd want. The media knows how to tap into paranoia plus they know almost no one will go investigating for themselves. Easy peasy.
Lol. Sure thing. I find it funny you just take what the nfl says and it’s gospel. Kinda like I’m doing with archer.

Not that I agree with the fines, but since 1997 the level of intensity for OTAs/Minicamp have been getting softer.

While I can get Archers point, going that back far in time to discuss intensity/physicality may not be the best argument after several CBAs and practice rules.

Jeez -- it seems the league really "has it in" for the Cowboys. We can't do Jack, without being naughty about something!
I guess we're supposed to be lounging around under a tent on the field, discussing the hot weather?
It really hit the fan when GM Jerry tried to get the Commish canned, didn't it?
It's a shame Jerry can't fine Goodell for being a peckerhead.

IDK, but here is what last years letter from nfl to cowboys regarding the same penalty said. Reading that it sounds like there is someone at practices from either the league office or players union.

“The intensity and tempo of the club’s interior line play and pass coverage during 11-on-11 drills were at a level where players were clearly engaged in physical contests,” the NFL said in a letter to the organization.

“The league further contends that ‘excessive contact between defensive backs and wide receivers’ as well as between offensive and defensive linemen ‘resulted in players being taken to the ground,” according to the letter.

“The letter reminds the Cowboys that when on-field physical contact between players escalates to an “impermissible level,” the head coach is obligated to intervene and stop the action. Coaches are also urged to remove “overly enthusiastic” players from the field for individual instruction. The OTA rules are part of the NFL Players Association agreement with the league.”

So if someone falls on the ground practice is over?

Who was the snitch? My money is on Bossman.:omg:
No one snitched. OTA practices are filmed and the video is sent to the NFL. Then they "determine" if a practice is too "intense".

LOL. This is the same NFL office that still has Deshaun Watson practicing but suspended Zeke to appease other owners and make an example.

Stupid rule, and a stupid rule to break...if you know the rules, why break them and lose another practice? Seems dumb all around.
