And enough to post something that wasn’t a Dak thread or a Tweet. Your therapist is going to be proud of you.

He's a smart guy. Or at least can scrape together enough IQ points to never question whether Deion Sanders was overrated.

It's a no brainer and should have already been done for a lot of reasons. Some of the obvious ones ...
  1. Safety
  2. Quality of the product
  3. More games requires more recovery
Season needs to be extended with super bowl pushed back.

Today, George Kittle brought up the need for 2 bye weeks in a season for player safety.

I like that idea. 17 games is a long season and if the season goes to 18 games they 100% should.

Plus it extends the regular season for an extra week.

Not sure why the league would be opposed to this. It would result in more prime time games which is where they make their most money and helps players health.
sounds SOFT i mean MM is being flamed for given players one OTA off sue to weather and what not lol

I'm in favor of 50 games per year with 2 bye weeks...

There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. I think 18 games is too long of a season and adding another bye week would be worse.

I liked 16 games with one bye week. It is hard enough to get through a 16 game season without injuries. 18 games will make it almost impossible. They would have to changes the rules on roster size, active players for a game, practice squads, IR, etc. But more than likely the NFL will change the rules to make the game softer instead.

I don't remember that. But I guess it was because there was a few weeks with a lot less games than usual.
in the 90's they did it and it made the schedules kind of wonky like you would play the same team two weeks in a row.

Look at you go. I asked a question. Provided my opinion an opinion shared by others. Your cognitive abilities are limited so I can understand your feelings. Living in a echo chamber is tough for you.

I think it's inevitable, with one catch. Owners will dangle that for an 18 game season with preseason reduced even further.

It was back one of those years the Cowboys won the SB. There was also only 28 teams.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd rather have 14 game seasons. More games are only needed to generate more revenue. 18 games is even more ridiculous. We'll see teams way out in front not play their starters the last two games of the season.

If they go to an 18 game season. Yes.

they should add a bye week and expand the rosters a little bit.

It will raise the quality of the games. Less games with marquee players out due to injury.

If the NFL was that concerned about player safety, they would eliminate Monday, Thursday or Saturday games, and give players chance to fully rest and heal between games. But the money hungry owners can't get enough. One bye week is enough. Besides, teams usually play a clunker or two each season which is technically a bye since the team didn't show up.

The season is already too long and adding one more bye week makes it worse.
I would rather have a 14 game season and no byes.

I remember they tried it for 1 year (1993) and got rid of it because they had too many weeks with poor late afternoon game choices. The idea at the time was by having an extra week of regular season games they could get more TV money. It would be worse now with the Thursday games.
I think at the time parity hasn't fully been spread across the NFL landscape...but today there is more parity, thus competition is better. but I said it in another post, NFL may use that as a point to get to 18 game season
