Do us a favor and quit posting here about the Cowboys. Go find a World Cup board to get off on. 99.9% of us don’t give 2 sh*ts about the WC. I want another SB and if our GM/owner isn’t concerned about it then he needs to sell the franchise and go buy a soccer club.

Why is following the Cowboys mutually exclusive to also enjoying Euro-style football? It's possible to enjoy more than one sport, you know. And besides, the World Cup won't impact the Cowboys at all. The matches will be played during the offseason. Therefore, there's no danger to the Cowboys.

The USA actually had a contender in 2002. Then fell off a cliff.
The USA had a decent chance to go all the way to the final that year. Had the refs correctly called a handball by Germany, the USA might have advanced to face a very beatable South Korea in the semifinals. Sure, nobody would top Brazil, but it would have been the USA's deepest ever run.

Americans came be so full of themselves. Hopefully just naive but probably ignorant. Even the most watched Super Bowls only attract maybe a billion viewers world wide.

That leaves about 6-7 billion viewers as we approach 8 billion people worldwide. That’s who’s watching World Cup as it’s the most popular sport outside the US.

The Super Bowl gets at most 140 million, the World Cup final 800 million.

It's not possible for 7 billion to watch the World Cup - many people have no access to TV.

This is why we need an actual GM for the football team. As the owner jerry should be thrilled he hosting the world cup in his stadium. And it is something he should be working towards as an owner. The problem is that is why things fall through the cracks because if nfl gm was your only job you wouldnt waste 5 minutes on it and concentrate on your actual job

A fan who doesn't understand that globally, the World Cup generates far more interest than the Super Bowl. Sounds about right.
It don’t generate interest with Cowboys fans. Name another GM that’s recruiting the World Cup?

World Cup final = watched by 700 million viewers.

Super Bowl = watched by 140 million viewers.

So what? The Rams GM is not impressive by those numbers because he’s busy trying to field a super bowl team so he can keep his job.

Cricket is a real thing globally.
I don't understand a single rule.
Shame on me.
It looks like baseball with weird bats and completely insane scoring rules.
And a single game can last for over a week.
Depends on the format of cricket. There are three formats, one is called test cricket with unlimited overs and can last up to 5 days. The second format is called a one day series which has 50 overs per team and can last 6 to 8 hours. The third format is called a T20 with 20 overs and lasts your typical 3 hours. All three have their own charm for cricket lovers. Rules of any games that you dont understand can be considered weird or funky especially if you are used to a similar game in your own backyard (baseball). For example rugby players would consider American football weird. The second biggest league in terms of media rights in the world right after the NFL is IPL (Indian Premier League). Since it is not a main stream sport here in the US, many dont even know that US has an official cricket team. They just played Nepal the other day. However they still dont have the talent level to compete with the Giants of cricket, England, India, Australia, etc.

Y’all win, the World Cup is more popular. What sport is more popular on the Cowboys Zone message board?

Yup, soccer rules. So does Cricket.
Yup, and if you follow all three sports, you would never have an off season. :)
Cricket isn't even remotely as popular as soccer. Cricket is popular in England, Southeast Asia, and Australia - that's it.

Soccer is easily the most popular sport on the planet, and European soccer is highly entertaining. The MLS is bush league, though. We suck at soccer.
Cricket has come a long way. Your statement might have been true in the 80s and 90s. However a lot more countries play cricket now. Also it generates more money then even the soccer premier leagues. If you rate the leagues by the amount of money and media rights that are sold for, the number 1 league in the world is NFL with 18 million a game, closely followed by IPL (Indian Premier League for cricket) with 13 million a game.

It's difficult, and there are no baseball mitts for it either.
I played cricket for my school and also had a league in SEC and played for University of Alabama. It is easier for me to catch the ball with my bare hands than having a glove on. I tried catching a baseball with the glove and did much better without one than with one on. I guess it is whatever you are used to.

most owners try to get their own team to the playoffs to fill the stadium with extra games. Jerry's finally realizing thats not going to happen with him running the team. He needs someone/anyone in there to fill it.

Did they? That's cool! It's a fun game.

The question is pretty straightforward. It pits Jerry Jones owner of AT&T Stadium against Jerry Jones owner of the world's most valuable franchise that happens to play American football.

His answer is telling. The business man thinks getting the World Cup is bigger to HIM than winning the Super Bowl.

To me, the answer is simple. "No! Nothing is bigger than my Dallas Cowboys winning a SuperBowl. It means that much to me. Getting the World Cup at my stadium and for the city of Dallas is incredible. Absolutely incredible. But, I'm the owner of a NFL franchise, we are in the business of winning Super Bowls."
I agree with you about this but if it came down to winning a SB or winning the WC than it is a no brained for me, imo. WC happens every 4 years and it’s represent the entire country. SB only represents the team of the city that wins it and it is every year. But you are right about winning a SB and hosting a WC game that is entirely different. I can see Jerry as a businessman as hosting WC is very lucrative especially since you might able to host for a very long time afterwards.
