The Fan was saying that a report came out 4 days ago that the league was close to annoucing a major suspension soon, they think its still gonna be a year of no Watson. we will see i guess.

I think the initial ruling will be anything between 12 games to a full season. Perhaps it gets appealed down to 10-12. I can't see how the final number is anything less than 10.

Obligatory Zeke 6 games post.

Maybe a high profile designated player from Houston should be suspended. Since it happened while on Houston's watch. Why should the Browns be punished. Let Watson play for free though for those games. :muttley:

He was working in the same state as Zeke when he was accused of these charges .....
So come on, Zeke obviously had something to do with it ...
.. Goodell is not stupid bro, Zeke ain't getting away with this on his watch.

The Browns made a gigantic investment in Watson but I suspect Goodell will automatically levy a minimum one-year suspension. And it would not surprise me if the suspension is 1 1/2 to 2 years in length.

The structure of Watson't contract suggests they expected a one-year suspension.

He'd only lose $1 million in salary in 2022. His salary goes to $46 million the next four years. He already got $45 million for signing.

Im guessing they told Watson "Here is 45 mill go clean up your mess and we will see you in a year"

My guess:

24 months (of which 12 will be suspended). Appeal will go in reducing it to 12 games (with rest suspended)

From everything I have read, there could be 60 to 100 women involved when all is said and done. I also hear the report that the NFL will suspend him for a full season.

But here is my question, if the NFL believes Watson is guilty then why would they even allow him to play at all, even a 2 or 3 year suspension seems to be a slap on the wrist when you consider he may have done it more than 20 times. Zeke was suspended 6 games for 1 incident and in that case even the female lead investigator thought the woman was lying. I have no idea what NFL investigators have discovered in Watson's case but if they conclude these women are telling the truth in Watson's cases then how can they suspend Watson for anything less than a year? If they believe all the women are telling the truth and there may be 40 to 60 more women then how do they let him back at all?

It would be hard to make a lifetime ban stick for a non criminal case, the backlash from the NFLPA and Watson would be huge and they could lose that case. Now if the owners all got together and decided....well not gonna re open that can.
