I don't know how much those ladies got paid, but it was a LOT. Watson's camp would be very, very motivated to avoid discovery, because Buzbee could have put a lot of questionable or embarrassing things on the public record.

The NFL probably knows everything that Buzbee does, but they can keep that info private when they suspend Watson (which looks inevitable at this point). I expect that as fans, we'll end up knowing very little about this by the end of it.

The Fan was saying that a report came out 4 days ago that the league was close to annoucing a major suspension soon, they think its still gonna be a year of no Watson. we will see i guess.

If he misses back-to-back seasons who knows where his game will be in 2023. Would be a big blow to his development. No guarantees he returns to being the same player he was.

From everything I have read, there could be 60 to 100 women involved when all is said and done. I also hear the report that the NFL will suspend him for a full season.

But here is my question, if the NFL believes Watson is guilty then why would they even allow him to play at all, even a 2 or 3 year suspension seems to be a slap on the wrist when you consider he may have done it more than 20 times. Zeke was suspended 6 games for 1 incident and in that case even the female lead investigator thought the woman was lying. I have no idea what NFL investigators have discovered in Watson's case but if they conclude these women are telling the truth in Watson's cases then how can they suspend Watson for anything less than a year? If they believe all the women are telling the truth and there may be 40 to 60 more women then how do they let him back at all?
I agree with your logic.

I'd add this question....how do you quantify the Joseph situation, when someone actually died, up against those two scenarios?

I have no answers or guesses, other than I'm sure Roger will get it wrong somehow.

Difference is that there is no evidence Joseph was a willing participant in that crime. Instead he's been the key witness & they had two suspects confess.

The first and last lawsuits will be a problem though. That young lady that was on HBO real sports appeared to be telling the truth. She probably wants the most cash. The last women was the most graphic and detailed. Deal should be reached before July 1st.

I STILL havent recovered from that initial report that Cleveland's FO had agreed to pay him 240 million with that funny little gee word attached.
As in guaranteed.
Before ONE case was ever settled.
Gotta give it up for the balls on the Cleveland front office and their risk to reward assessment here.

I mean they give new meaning to the description Go Big or Go Home, LOL.

Since this has been perpetually unfolding, Goodell could impose indefinite suspension with Watson getting counseling and a signoff from the league his only way back in.

Houston's involvement with securing some of these masseuses and providing rooms may bring them some pain as well. How in the hell are they going to defend the red flags 66 masseuses with their assistance as not being complicit?

He should also penalize the Browns for being stupid. Their fans should boycott the owner until Watson is allowed to play.

Two year MINIMUM!

Zeke got 6 games for an allegation, no court, no arrest, and it was a set-up obvious from the lady's texts. Watson "should" get a 150 game ban. I would love to see Jerry immediately file a suit against Goodell for $100MM if the punishment is less than 2 years!

While that would be funny these owners have bigger problems heading thier way...I promise you none of them are liking congress checking into one of thier own like this, the NFL will probably circle the wagons not start suing each other. Even if the other owners dont like Snyder they will not like this snooping around and will probably close ranks.

I am normally NOT the conspiracy theorist. But has everyone forgotten Kraft's little ahem, indiscretion?
The Maras, Rooneys and Kraft have long been on Gooddell's inner circle of minions. I think they head the socalled committee that determine his annual salary. Like you, I will be curious to see how this plays out and to see if Jimmy Haslam is on Gooddell's wink/nod protected short list of Owner BFFs.

Yea, Houston should face some fines/loss of draft picks if those allegations are proven true.

Precedence would suggest the NFL has to punish Watson severely here.

Elliott was never convicted of any crime and the NFL's own investigators said there didn't appear to be much here but nevertheless the book was thrown at Elliott. So Watson paying off defendents to keep them quiet shouldn't then give him a get out of jail free card.

They might but the thing with this is, they are tired of the story and if the suspension is too short it will become a bigger story. That is why I think 1 year minimum so they have a year to let people fleece them while saying "We suspended him" and hope it blows over.

Man they going to keep coming for this guy. He's a walking ATM now. I might file to see if can get in the lottery this guy got going on .

With a $230 million guaranteed contract, he could up the $100,000 he offered the first time to $1 million and not miss any sleep.

(Buying them with silence - to the tune of Blinded me with Science)
