This is where I’m at. These guys haven’t even put on pads yet, we haven’t seen the new players against real opponents…it’s waaaaaaay too early for me to have anything other than blind hope.

I will say this though…this team hasn’t made the playoffs in back to back seasons in 15 years. And the last time this team won the East back to back was ‘95-‘96. I’m seeing all these confident predictions that this team is going to win 10-12 games and “easily” win the East. I don’t know what this team is capable of yet but I’m very sure my knowledge of this team’s history and who still runs this organization prevents me from having any confidence.
Lots to prove before solid backing, for sure.

As of today I think we win the division.
Eagles come in 2nd
Washington next due to their D getting back on track, not because of Wentz.
NY still too far behind everybody else.

I was reading the thread about how the gap in the NFCE is closing, so I thought it'd be fun to predict how you think it will play out in 2022. I guess we can make it a contest of sorts, except nobody wins anything.

How will the NFCE rank?

What will be the record for each team?

I'm going with:

Cowboys 11-6
Washington 10-7
Eagles 8-9
Giants 6-11
I think the boys and egirls battle it out for the division.
Boys lost talent and eagles gained.
Should be a dog fight.

Eagles 18-0 (There will be suspicion that they cheated but nobody will be able to prove it)
Cowboys 17-0
Commanders (yuck) 2-15
Gnats 0-17.

Cowboys lose the wildcard game at the Packers.

Dallas repeats division champs
Commanders 2nd
Egals 3rd
Gnats cellar dwellers

I totally expect that the entire Eastern Division will improve significantly in 2022. All 4 teams should manage to recover nicely, with the Cowboys to lead the pack, once again! I'm excited for what potentially lies ahead in the weeks to come! I expect they'll surprise and delight many of our fans! :)

Eagles 10-7
Dallas 9-8
Washington 8-9
Giants 6-11

First 2 months without Gallup at 100% followed by 2 months of McCarthys job speculation become too much. Eagles get normal progression from Hurts and it’s enough to win the East. They are then faced with the Dak dilemma of he’s good enough to make the playoffs with but is he good enough to win a title with.

Cowboys 10-7
Eagles 8-9
Wash 7-10
Giants 6-11

I think the Defense will be even better than this last year and the offense will be worse resulting in a lot of changes next year and Quinn being our head coach.

1) Cowboys 10-7

2) Washington 8-9

3) Eagles 7-10

4) Giants -6-11

- I'm going against the trend in that division races that seldom has repeat champions.
Only a devastating injury to the QB situation could keep us out of NFC East contention.
And i'm still not comfortable with the backup QB situation.

We got hit with big injuries to DLaw, Gregory, Gallimore and Hill at some stretches, and we somehow
manage to survive LB injuries with both Parson and LVE staying healthy all year.

-What would be the alternatives should Parson gets dinged & hurt ?

- OL work affects every NFL team. Live or die off their production and health.

- just as Dak's health- durability affects us, ditto for other NFC East foes and their QBs.

What we did to them last year is meaningless. Rosters are different. The Eagles improved in the offseason, adding legitimate proven players. We have taken a much riskier approach banking on rookies and has beens like Fowler to fill large roles and make immediate impacts.

Their schedule is a joke this year, especally early. They won 9 games last year with a mediocre Hurts and riding a soft schedule and likely can do the same this year. Hurts isn't gonna light the world on fire but if he could get them 9 wins last year, he can probably get them at least that in 2022 (obviously assuming health factors, etc).

You'll also note nowhere did I say they will win the division this year. I said I think if we want to win it, 12 games is probably the safe total. I think Philly can get to 10-11 wins largely because their schedule is laughable and they can pack on some wins early against some really bad teams.
If you are not the #1 seed you have to play a wildcard game anyway. The Boys will most likely need to win more than 12 games to get a bye week. That's probably a good thing. Seems like every time we get a bye in the playoffs we come out playing flat as a pancake.

I have no idea how the season will go. Too many questions to be answered. Will Hurts improve? If so, by how much? Will Wentz change his attitude and keep his teammates from turning on him?

I do believe we won't sweep the NFCE this year.

All players have to put on their uniform pants...one leg at a time. Even though the Cowboys play four very strong offenses in their first six games, they are good enough and improving enough to handle the course. More wins than losses in these 6 games!

Watch the eagles on that schedule and I dont want Hurtz to improve period, coz they got some weapons.
Eagles defence, we'll see but that schedule may do that defence some favors
The commanders , yeah that name.....

Believe it or not, the Cowboys have averaged 2.5 sacks a game against Tom Brady...let's get up to speed from the start!!!

It wasn't my intention to diminish our chances for this version of the C'boys to defend their Eastern Division crown. I think they'll fare well, despite losing several of their valued WRs. The 1st two games will be tough tests, no doubt. Hopefully, the defense will have improved enough to make up for any losses in our offense. I think both Philly and Washington will present better competition this year, which isn't to minimize our abilities to beat them.
