I expect 85-100 receptions, 1200 yds and 8-10 tds.

He will get a massive target volume.

The real question is, will the others be able to step up enough to make up for losing Coop?

Do you believe his drops will go down, or will they increase in correlation to his usage?

2021:

DJ Moore 163 targets 10 drops
Travis Kelce 134 targets 10 drops
Cooper Kupp 191 targets 9 drops
Keenan Allen 157 targets 8 drops
Jaylen Waddle 140 targets 8 drops
CeeDee Lamb 120 targets 8 drops
Justin Jefferson 167 targets 7 drops

I didn’t realize he was 3rd in drops in the nfl

And that’s at 120 targets. Put him at 150+ which many here want and that stat will balloon.

Hopefully the production compensates for it

His situation is different. He doesn't have Rodgers or Roethlisberger throwing to him.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Dak may not be the best QB in the league, but I guarantee you he's better than your arse ever could be.

You'd go 5 of 22 for 34 yards with 0TD's and 4 Ints in one half. Cowboy fans will be throwing D size batteries at you.

If equaling their talent was the prerequisite for being critical of someone, then Quincy Carter would be 45 and still the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys.

That's about my expectation too, but if he receives enough targets 1400 to 1500 yards and double digit tds is possible. Dak seems to spread the ball around a lot though and never has truly targeted just 1 receiver in bunches. I would be surprised if he consistently got 10+ targets a game, but that's on Moore and McCarthy to game plan getting the ball in the hands of the best players.

Lamb will be fine ..... He has elite talent ..... It will be up to the OC and QB to adjust the game plan to his strengths which is catching in traffic and short passes with plenty of run after the catch.

And unfortunately this team on offense had been known to just do what they do and not adjust to players strengths
In the NFL does he have the same elite RAC ability we thought he did? Not many instances of him juking guys out or running away from them.

Putting up numbers isn’t the almighty measuring stick. Even James McKnight and Laurent Robinson put up big numbers when they had to be a #1 due to injuries.

Put him with Rodgers, he has 1,800 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Again, 32nd in targets. Don't hate the player for the opportunities he didn't get. You're also conveniently ignoring he avg. 1100 and 6 here, before our utter failure the second half of last season.

32 in targets but 3rd in drops? That should be concerning.

What are you even arguing exactly, and where did you get that stat from? I'm speaking about other wrs needing to step up in Coops absence. I figured that was common sense.

BTW, if you browse the list of wr drops, it includes Jamar Chase, Deebo and Kupp who all seem to be fan favorites around here. Interesting...

I was just citing it based on comments I read in this thread and didn't look it up. I think Lamb is going to see a lot more double coverage so you are right, the other WRs have to step up. I don't think he was ready to be number one, but it looks like it's trial by fire time.

I think he will put in work and do "better." However, with an increased target volume it wouldn't suprise me to not see his drops go down. It appears he's taking his opportunity seriously. That's a start....

I think he will be ok, but the idea the offense gets better without Coop seems far fetched. In any event it starts up front with blocking and run game. If we do those the rest falls into place.

what are you expecting out of him?

Do you have faith in him being able to rise to the occasion with Cooper being gone?

CeeDee is a less talented version of Dez, though CeeDee runs better routes and is less vocal about his talents (like Dez).

There has been a lot written here about Schultz and how he might be Dak's security blanket.

And with CeeDee, Gallap, Schultz and Tolbert in the mix and a QB who is no Rogers, Mahomes or even a Garropolo, don't expect a breakout year from CD.

I think losing Cooper was a huge blow because he drew so much coverage even if his numbers were down. Addition by subtraction almost never works unless that subtraction was a locker room cancer. That's not Cooper.

I hope Lamb will be okay. I just think he was promoted a season too early. I'm cheering for him to kick butt and prove me wrong that he wasn't ready.

How are they alike? Dez was an out muscle, go up and get it WR. CD lines up everywhere, and doesn't rely on physicality to get the ball.

They do both wear #88 though, so good job buddy. Now go have a seat. Let the adults talk.
