PFT implies Watson punishment should be no more than Jerry, Kraft or Sydner

Na what Bauer did was consensual this is totally different. This is more in the middle of of what Darren sharper and in between Warren Sapps mishaps.

Both Bauer and Watson lured women to their places and then went way over to no means yes line with their respective women who went along with Bauer and Watson in the first place for something much, much milder. Bait and sexual assault I think it’s called.

bahahahhaah.... 80s and 90s football.... back when there was NO SALARY CAP and owners already had MAXIMUM profits. Also no free agency and you just said that was when football was best for fans. Thanks for making my point for me.. Once players got free agency, that meant salaries were going to go through the roof. The Cap ensures salaries stay to a certain level and owners get a certain %. If there was no cap, salaries would no question be probably close to double what they are now....... what do you think that would do to the cost of attending a game or getting the NFL Sunday Ticket?

Wow you are swallowing all that nonsense the owners are selling aren't ya ....... I can see by your posting history I would be wasting my time trying to get you out of the owners pockets.
Have a nice day.

If Watson expects to get lenient treatment like Snyder, Jones, and Kraft, he's sadly mistaken. He should already he'll be judged and punished differently than those guys for obvious reasons.
Very obvious. He's an employee, they're the employer. Derdeedee

For anyone connected to the NFL come out and say they are backing this abuser

For anyone connected with the NFL to come out and say they back this abuser they too should be banned from the NFL for LIFE. 20 plus women have come forward and said this perverted SOB did stuff to them that if you or I were accused of these horrible acts we would be in jail waiting for a date with the firing squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watson should be banned for life and the idiots who thought it was a good idea to sign him to the Browns should be bounced out of the league!!!!!!!
I'm guessing you haven't done much in your life.

I don't like the political cancel culture. I say if a player is not in jail then he can play. Moral based judgments on punishment should be up the owner and not the fans and media.
It is up to the owners.

not really.... the media takes it and runs as they need stuff to write about, but my guess is 90% or more of the people that watch the NFL would still watch the exact same amount of the NFL regardless of what happens with any Watson suspension, or lack of one.
W/ one incident, I can give you that, but it's not about one incident.

as Jerry did? What did Jerry do?

Now Bob Kraft?? now you have something.
Tried to shove money into an uncapped year. Fought the Zeke suspension. Tried to get Goodell fired.

Jerry's always bucking the NFL. They look the other way if it makes them money, of course!!!!

Not sure how much you followed the Bauer situation but that's not what happened. He never lured her at all, and as a matter of fact she went back for more encounters.

That's just the surface.... there are many more deeper reasons than that as to why he won't be judged and punished as lightly as they did.

Report: NFL seeks indefinite suspension of Deshaun Watson, lasting at least one year
Posted by Mike Florio on June 25, 2022, 6:39 PM EDT

Multiple reports have pegged the commencement of the hearing before Judge Sue L. Robinson for Tuesday, June 28. It’s unclear how long the process will take. An effort by the NFLPA to defend Watson based on the actions, and consequences, of owners like Daniel Snyder, Robert Kraft, and Jerry Jones will necessarily delay the process. Nevertheless, Watson has an absolute right to argue that his punishment should be commensurate with other cases.
so Zeke gets 6 games for something never proven, IN COLLEGE and Watson being sued by over 30 women, pays them off. gets slap on the wrist...really!!! REALLY!! that would be a tragedy

Yeah that's stretching it. The 3 owners mentioned haven't assaulted anyone let alone over 20 women. Its clear from just the shear volume of settlements that Watson is a serial offender with zero regard for women.

Yeah, the whole Zeke thing was absurd. The NFL is so worried about image, yet they are the ones that brought attention to that case. That entire thing would have gone largely unnoticed had the league not brought it to everyone's attention. The league acted out of fear. Fear another Ray Rice type video might come out. Pathetic how they handled the Zeke case.

This thread makes me sad.
The actions of these men are horrific & disturbing towards women. Hope they all get what they deserve. Dirty laundry always has a way of coming out!

and it was never proven, and the case was dropped because apprantley she had fabricated the story for money. but then again Jerry wanted to fire Goodell

I don't think either Mayfield or the Browns see that as a solution. Mayfield feels the team did him wrong, and the Browns have decided he isn't the answer - hence breaking the bank for Watson.
The Cleveland soap opera kicks into high gear come Tuesday with the NFL disciplinary hearing.

I agree it's an outcome they both would rather avoid but it still may be their best solution

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...l-year-wholl-play-quarterback-for-the-browns/

If Deshaun Watson is suspended for the full year, who’ll play quarterback for the Browns?
Posted by Mike Florio on June 26, 2022, 11:01 AM EDT

The best approach for the Browns would be to find a way to persuade Mayfield to return for a year. With Watson (if he’s suspended for a year) having his $1.035 million salary for 2022 pushed to 2023 and his $46 million salary for 2023 pushed to 2024, the Browns could actually offer more money to Mayfield for the coming year. They could also agree not to tag him after the season. That would be the kind of tangible gesture that could persuade Mayfield to return for another year — especially if he realizes (as he should) that he’ll have a better chance to position himself for a big payday on the open market if he stays put in an offense he knows, and with talent on both sides of the ball.

No, there's not. Money, power, position, that's it.
