I'm sticking with Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, Bob Lilly and Emmitt Smith. That's my Mount Rushmore :flagwave:

It is somewhat of a dilemma, the Cowboys may have outgrown Mount Rushmore
Putting non-players in only muddles the exercise. Because a perfectly logically group is Clint Murchison for creating the team, Tex Shramm for overseeing decades of success, Tom Landry for coaching said decades, and Gil Brandt for acquiring all of those players. And then 5 is Jimmy Johnson.

But that’s the most boring list one could come up with. Should be relegated to players only
I concur

It would be awesome if Jones somehow would find it in his cold heart to construct a small replica of Mt. Rushmore outside of AT&T with the figures of Landry, Lilly, Emmitt and Staubach. With the bucks he is getting off this franchise, small price to pay. Great spot for fan photos. ....enough of the "Art inside the stadium" crap. Drop that off at the museum where it belongs.

The Cowboys have enough history for 3 Mount Rushmores.

None the past 25 years though sadly.

How did I forget Landry. But I don't know who I would take off

In your post you specified players, and not coaches. So I guess you get to make it up as you go along...

  • Staubach
  • Hayes
  • Smith
  • Irvin

No, he stated, "Top 4 Cowboys" of all time, then proceeded to mention some past players. He never said the list had to be players.

I thought this would be interesting. Top 4 Cowboys of all time. Probably changes depending on when you grew up. I'm an old guy so some players from earlier are included
-Roger Staubach
-Bob Lilly
-Randy White
-Emmitt Smith
So many worthy players. What say you?
These would be my choices.

Like that idea, and I agree with your 4 people as well.
Also don't get the art work either. This is a football stadium , not a museum.

Your idea is a guaranteed moneymaker but Jones would never approve of its construction. AT&T Stadium is his monument to himself. It is why he never objects to anyone calling it JerryWorld, which some people thinks is an insult to him but he doesn't.

A Mt. Rushmore type attraction would partially outshine the stadium. And his blood would boil seeing faces on another prominent fixture that does not include him. Tom Landry predates him, so his statue does not eat at him like another monument would. Plus, it deflects from him firing Landry by demonstrating how much "respect" he has for the franchise's first head coach. It is certainly more acknowledgement than he gives the franchise's second head coach.
