I think people confuse being liked by teammates, and some rah rah talk,
with being a good leader.
playing smart during the game is also important, and that is something I havent seen a lot of with dak.

A good example is rodgers gets the ball snapped and catches the other team with 12 men quite a few times, and dak has never done that.

another example is the last play of the WC game, dak was not a smart leader on that play, or they would have wound up with time for one more play.

I get it, he's not the best leader but he certainly is a very good one.

While we're throwing out examples, how about the fact that dak has 10 come from behind wins in the 4th quarter, which since he entered the league is more than any other qb that entered in 2016 or after....most qbs on the list have at least 4 more years of experience than him and obviously no one drafted at or behind him is in front of him.

i don't agree that Micah is the only real leader....dak is an exceptional leader and it is probably his best trait....now in terms of phyicality, Micah is certainly the best....too bad zeke cant regain his 2016 form
in Football games, leadership is not only in the locker room or taking the team out or help donate cash to the practice squads , etc. at the end Dak has to help this team win a SB or at least reach a CCG. He has done neither. Where is the exceptional leadership talk coming from ?
and when his contract was being renewed he demanded to be paid top dollar as if he is a top tier QB. he is not.

There are major issues
1) the coach is highly suspect and is a classic yes man to Jerry . No player will respect or feae McCarthy
2) the QB is mediocre and probably descending .
3) the run game is hampered by an overpaid RB bum .
The running game is hampered because of the offense of line. Quarterback is hampered for the same reason. I never liked McCarthy. But the players are responding

McCarthy seems like a liability . don't see any game where his coaching made the difference. on the contrary he has made mistakes during games.
Dak had 6 years and i don't see him being a positive factor. grosssly overpaid.

McCarthy seems like a liability .

I don't think so. He is being heavily handicapped by Jerry. When he said he didn't help KM with the offense last season, an inexperienced OC that was forced on him, it was clear he is frustrated by the lack of control Jerry allows him to have.

Don't take this as me saying I think he's a top notch coach either.

One thing that I have noticed is the we now regularly go for the big play when the defense jumps offside. Rarely happened under Garrett. But I guess it's what you focus on that sticks out to you. Playing smart with the ball is seen as being indecisive and unable to process the defense to some. Watch the games. Get out of the echo chamber.

And that last play vs SF was botched by the ref. The center also had his hand in the delay but it rarely gets mentioned.

This offense will continue to have success as long as the line holds up. Even in spite of our horrible leadership at QB .

Dallas is basically the best team in the nfl at taking the ball away. You can’t start on the other side of the field by not taking the ball away.

yeah but to think we have a second year as good as last on TAs is probably unrealistic, sadly.

In my opinion number one. Reduce the penalties drastically. Number two, starting field position. Although it’s been getting better we’re still starting almost every drive on our side of the field. Number three. And this can’t be helped much, Injuries. Having talent at the rotation position. I truly don’t believe it’s just one individual. That Some seem to think it may be . So I ask what do you think of the three most important things that we need to do to take the next step. Towards the championship. Go cowboys
A new GM that is not the Owner or related to the Owner.

Three things that Cowboys need to do to win a championship:
  1. Get a new GM
  2. Hire a Super Bowl caliber coach
  3. Acquire a Super Bowl caliber QB

1. Bring in a QB capable of understanding a defensive coverage pre snap and with the ability to run through several reads/progressions in a split second before executing a play giving the receiver a regulation (not a circus) catch.
2. A new GM.
3. Stop the run on D.

That actually was on the top of my list. But I knew it was something that was never going to change so Why complain about it. But you nailed it absolute number one priority

Drop your nuts! That's what we need.
penalties are the most absolute sign of bad coaching . No top coach can tolerate such penalties. it is a symptom of a desease in the team which stems from lack of fear and respect for the coaching staff and from weak training on fundemantals.
This is all on MM. And the silence from Jerry on this continues.
