It’s strange how deaths of certain people that you don’t personally know can hit hard. Marion was not some big time star or personality....and I never knew the guy. Yes, like many others I loved to watch him play and appreciated his effort and dedication. But still there was something else about the kid I can’t put my finger on......
Again...travel well Marion you truly will be missed.

That era was when my fandom was at its peak. Respect to them for traveling to Minnesota for their teammate.

This really is a sad story. He gave it all on the field. Seems like he was lost his last couple years. Very sad.

I'll always remember this clip of him. TO throwing a party, MBIII on his own playing his piano, playing it quiet well. There was more to Barber than just smash mouth football, it's such a shame CTE took it away from the world to see.

Marion Barber was what you want in an athlete from a fans perspective . He was exciting . When he got the handoff it was going to be a wild ride and he was taking some defenders down with him .

On todays squad # 11 has that effect . He’s dropping the hammer here he comes . # 7 as well here he goes another INT .

Marion I appreciated you my brother , big THANKS ! RIP .

here's the whole ceremony
here's the whole ceremony

Never thought that on an early Friday am I would be sitting outside getting all choked up. Quite the amazing tribute to Marion Barber III. I watched all two hrs, he was obviously a very special person but then I think we all knew that. Not a HOF player but for some reason he seems to resonate with all of us. Maybe it was that try hard go 150% attitude that he brought to those teams that we can all appreciate immensely. Marion the Barbarian RIP my man.

I'll be honest. I don't recognize everyone in the pic, but it's good his teammates showed up for him.
Jeez if you don't recognize them I've got no chance.
But shout out to the guys
for being there.

You mention this. And you're right. This one kind of impacts you as a fan, and it is strange.

On another level, though, if you follow what was happening to him with the stories in the media, and the way the media close to him was handling it, you gotta wonder about how that all impacted him. All that tabloidesque media stuff he was dealing with. For a guy who hates the media.

Then, not to be a conspiracy theorist, but rumor is he was writing a book about social justice, or something like that. And there are rumors about Frisco police being corrupt. So, I've thought about it being some sort of cover up. Because on some levels, it sounds like it could be a murder where someone tried to damage the crime scene with water. But we are still waiting for the official report on whatever happened.

That run out of the back of the endzone is a highlight that should be shown forever. Was a amazing effort. And almost broke that run.

Special player and an even more special person. I made sure to tune in every time he played. He will be missed.
