Manning just threw up prayers like Farve used to do. He just got lucky. That pass rush from the Giants was at their best when they got to the playoffs. You give Romo a defense that could pass rush like those guys and he wins two SB's just like Manning.

Manning was a good QB at his prime. Some of those throw up prayers were still intelligent. 3rd and 10 and you're going to play cover 2? Cool - we're going to run 3 vertical routes, pickup any blitzers and throw a 50/50 pass? He was really good at that.

I don't think Manning was worlds better than or even as good as Romo at his best, but he was clearly a competent QB.

Man, 2010-2013 were some really maddening years. It seemed like everything that could go wrong did go wrong every season.

This was the era of the Cowboys snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

That wasn't in the same stratosphere as the late 60s losing to the Browns and Packers to end every season, we were inches away from 5 championships during that miserable span.

And to make it worse, we were always just a few inches away.

If Austin had run his route just a bit deeper, he would have caught that pass and Dallas beats the Giants 34-29 and takes the division title in 2011.

If Baileys field goal were just a little bit lefter, the Cowboys beat the Ravens and win the division title I. 2012.

If that lineman hadn't stepped on Romos foot, the Cowboys might have beaten the Broncos and won the division in 2013.

Small brain moments

Romo had what 23 or 24 comeback victories between 2006 - 2015 leading the nfl. Lead ALL quarterbacks in the 4th quarter and overtime passer rating during that span. His cowboys defense from 2010 on gave up more 30+ games besides two other teams. Let's not forget quarterbacks such as Brady, Rivers and etc had more game ending plays then Romo from 2011 on. Romo also had overall good postseason stats.

Easy to remember game ending picks when you carry trash level defenses 90% of your career. In reality he was never the game ending killer the media makes him out to be. Dude led the nfl in comeback victories during his career

And let's not start into what I consider a bs stat anyways. Many quarterbacks don't get as many chances cause their team is always up. Like hell Cousins almost has as many game winning drives as Rodgers.
Oh ok. I was waiting for this.

When Romo has a game winning drive. He’s clutch. Dak leads the nfl in 4th quarter comebacks to begin his career and “it’s his fault they were behind”

lol this board is hilarious. How many of those comebacks were because Romo decided to have 2-3 interception game and we had to come back? Don’t let the guy off the hook.

I also think Romo was better than Dak. He also had a real coach. And got to sit and learn. I don’t know why our fans can’t just appreciate that after the QB purgatory we survived we can’t be happy we have had 2 QBs that are good to great.

If Garrett doesn’t ice his own kicker. That game agains the giants doesn’t matter.

Jerry keeping that imbecile employed while he “learned on the job” is the single biggest act of cruelty Jerry has ever forced on cowboys fans. I put that up there with firing Jimmy

Every time these type of threads come up, they backfire. Today's reality is the never ending quest to make us believe that wide held beliefs and truths are incorrect.

The truth will usually out

I agree.

The other side of that coin is. Romo had a REAL HC. Also his OL was pretty darn good coming into the league. But I think the biggest thing was the mental side of the game. He got to sit and learn. Dak was thrown into the fire as a 4th round pick lol. This is Dak's 7th year in the league. Romo had his best year ever in his 7th year starting. So lets see. I have half judged Dak. If he doesn't stay consistent this year (i mean weeks 1-7 last year consistent) I am off the Dak train for good.

Romo couldn't shine Dak's shoes baby!!!
From accuracy, to reading the defenses and pocket presence Dak is superior without any doubt.
Dak has played with no talent around him like the offline which was all pretty much rd 4 and 5 picks.
A running back who we picked up from waivers and WR of such low quality they should have been playing in the USFL!!!

Now in band camp.....:muttley:
