Trysten Hill will be one of the three 3-tech DT guys I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out.
Some here either will,.. or already have written him off the roster.

- Barring injury, I still think Trysten has a chance to make this 53 roster as a key rotation guy.
Yes, he is not Quinn’s hand picked draft selection, but neither is Gallimore.

- I don’t think his mini camp impressions is by luck, as it was reported he gave rookie Tyler Smith
some problems vs pass, shouldn't come as a surprised.
Hill is athletic and agile, and can move well off the blocks and in pursuit for one 310 pounds.

- For one over 300 pounds, I even to tend to think in terms of his lateral movement, agility and change of direction may be better than Gallimore.
I think between durability and discipline issues (maturity) , that’s been his biggest issues and setbacks.

- Like Gallimore, he’s been slowed and setback by injuries,
He was benched for most of his rookie year under Marinelli
His 2nd year was immediately shortened by the ACL tear injury
His 3rd year he was very slow to recover off coming off that ACL injury; by mid-season.
It didn't helped by a game suspension per post game Raiders.

Early on, i can see us keeping 10 DL guys, five which includes the DTs... both 3-techs, 1 techs.

1 Osa Diggy
2 Gallimore
3 Watkins
4 Hill
5 Ridgeway or Bohanna ?

I like Hill's chances at the roster better than i do with Bohanna, to which i think the club will only keep two 1-techs.
Vet Watkins is expected tto be one of the 1 techs.
Bohanna will have to compete and beat out rookie Ridgeway this summer to make this roster, imo.

I still have hopes for Hill to come on this season and step up and be productive.

I agree Bohanna may be the odd man out here, depending on Ridgeway. I was not impressed with Bohanna last year. But he is a fan favorite as Hill is the punching bag.
You know how it works on here. Always a player to hate on or 2 or 3.

TC will be interesting from these 3.

If he doesn't show anything in the preseason, and I'm talking Terrell Davis-like performance, he's gone by the final roster.

I am surprised to see an article of hope for this terrible pick. DK Metcalf and Diontae Johnson were on the board. Take Metcalf and then we could have traded Cooper and the Cedee pick to #6 for Herbert in 2020.

Don't underestimate that 4th year jump

But seriously, I think he pushes Watkins off the roster :omg:

DT's Gallimore, Odiggy, Hill, Johnny neck brace and Bohanna.

It's certainly an interesting development .. Gallimore looked like a monster in training camp and preseason then got hurt. Then looked like a monster again when he first came back of IR but that turned out to be mostly just due to fresh legs. He tailed off considerably after that initial splash. Osa started out strong but hit the rookie wall and never really came back. Hill showed flashes but as expected was something less than full go coming off the ACL. This year should tell the tale. I do think he has more physical talent than any of the other DTs... but have no idea where his head is. The coaching staff praised his head space in TC last year but the Thanksgiving day fiasco seemed to have landed him in a bit of doghouse cause his snaps dropped off quite a bit after that. He's got to get that fixed if he's going to do anything in the league.. whether it be in Dallas or elsewhere.

This guy is garbage. I don't know how he is still on the team.

I fully expect him to not make the team this year.

I'd say the odds of him not making the roster are better than him actually playing here and making an impact. Besides a numbers crunch I doubt there will be anybody pounding the table for him when its time for a visit from the turk.

This is his make or break year.
He looked good before the injury.
He has now had plenty of time to heal and bulk up.
This is his chance , hope he takes advantage of it.

That would have been nice but then this board would only have half as many threads.

Wasn't Hill injured part of last season?

He tore his ACL in the same game Dak got hurt in 2020 and spent half of 2021 on PUP.. He was never going to be back to full strength coming off a torn ACL. Those things take a full year to get right for people not named Adrian Peterson. I hope he balls out this year.. He has a good set of tools.. good size, explosive first step quickness and good strength.. and a helluva motor .. dude ran down quite a few plays downfield that had gone away from him after the rest of the d-line had decided to become spectators. He just needs to reign in his emotions and not let guys get into his head.

Definitely.

His RAS is like 9.5. So he definitely has the athleticism.

I saw a few clips where he was playing pretty well. I'm actually pulling for him to finally step up.
