1 question I have to ask. Why wasn’t he drafted? By any team?

Very unlikely IMO. Let’s assume we carry four DE’s plus Parsons and Golston.

1. Lawrence
2. Armstrong
3. Williams
4. Fowler jnr / Basham

There’s no room for big kat. He’s a chance to make the practice squad but I think there’s a good chance we put a player on the street that’s capable of starting for some teams.

Typical uninformed, lazy response from you.

Listed DEs on the team roster:

1) D-Law
2) Sam Williams
3) Dorance Armstrong
4) Tarell Basham
5) Dante Fowler, Jr.
6) Carlos Watkins
7) Chauncey Golston
8) Mike Tafua
9) Markaviest Bryant

This is not including Micah Parsons whenever he lines up at times at DE as an Edge Rusher.

That makes it 10 players at DE fighting for 4-5 DE roster spots = LOADED

Want to keep on making foolish comments?

only an idiot calls that list “loaded” at a premium position. There isn’t a single player other than DLaw who starts on a top 10 defense . Not one

Draft Scouting Report:
Rating: 62.79 (Role player)
Pro Comparison: Jonathan Wynn
Strengths:
Good sized edge rusher with active hands. Significant playing experience with a past in the SEC. Good overall strength. Will play to the whistle.

Weaknesses:
Rarely counters inside and that leaves the B gap very vulnerable for big run gains. Does not do a great job of containing the edge. Stiff athlete with below average change of direction skills.

Bryant never lived up to his recruiting hype at Auburn, and it took him his fifth collegiate year to truly be an impactful player. He is a stiff, upright player which almost instantly puts him at a disadvantage during his pass rush reps. Though Bryant has shown good strength, his hand technique is poor at the line of scrimmage. You would hope after five years in college that he would be a bit more refined, but his technique has never seemed to improve. His run defense is inconsistent at best. Even with his large tackle radius, he has trouble taking down ball carriers, usually going for arm tackles due to frequently being out of position. Bryant has poor game processing as well, often misreading plays, miss gap assignments, and often setting a poor edge.

Lack of Productivity in Pass Rush
For everything that I like about Bryant, this is the main point that keeps me from putting a first round grade on him. At the time of this writing, Markaviest has played in 36 games. During that time he’s only been able to collect a grand total of 10 sacks. That’s almost one sack for every four games played. As pass happy as the NFL is these days, you can’t have a first round pick putting up those types of numbers. When watching the tape, you see a player that can’t cause havoc on opposing offenses. I saw Bryant burn tackles off the snap and blow plays up. There are times that he will anticipate the snap, take a step, cross the lineman’s face, and get into the backfield untouched. But sadly, those plays aren’t the norm.

Throughout his career at Auburn, Bryant recorded 56 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks. In 2020, he was named a second-team All-SEC selection. Along with that, he was also named to the Bronco Nagurski Trophy watch list. The trophy recognizes the best linebacker in college football. Perhaps, he had his best season in 2021 with the Knights. He had his most productive season where he would record 50 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and six sacks.
This jag is strictly camp fodder,we don't need another DE that can't set the edge or stop the run.

Lol, we're so loaded, Micah is going to be forced to play defensive end a ton.

I can't honor that nickname at this point, but I hope he changes my mind.
Sports stars from the past with that the moniker "Big Cat"
Ernie Ladd
Andres Galarraga
Guess Bryant \ his fans use the spelling "Kat" to distinguish him from others
