Its fish in a barrel at this point.
Its an open playing field in this camp, and anyone that hasnt come in shape and prepared will be the most likely cut.
I want to see players like Bohanna that supposedly has had a very good off season show up and want to grab that spot.
Too early to speculate, but all Im saying is if you are not prepared and taking this seriously, than you are expendable.
I would rather have less talented players that have passion for the game than vet paycheck collectors living off of past expectations.

i'd rather look at the 2022 depth chart to see if 'it's been updated.
is Francis Bernard still on this team ?

DC.com isn't up to par when it comes to updating their web site with source info.
No.

Hill and Watkins are both free agents after this year so if anyone goes it will be one of them.

But a lot can happen before the final cuts so I am sure there will be at least one injury at the position. Plus, we have never seen Ridgeway play at the NFL level, not even in practice. Perhaps he just flat out sucks and the decision becomes easy.

I really thought there would be a classic @Risen Star comment in this one.

There's still time I suppose.

This isn't an easy call.

When Bohanna beats out ridgeway it'll be hilarious. The roster lock some of you give him is ridiculous

I'm not sure it'll be funny. But Ridgeway really is the least athletic of the entire group. I think he has potential to be more athletic and improve his game, to the level of the others'. Unless Jerry is hellbent on being right about drafting an Arkansas player, which I can see, I think Ridgeway will have to fight his way on.

At the end of the day, it'll come down to whichever player rises above the occasion.

Personally, I don't want to see training camp battles. I want all-out war.

So, if Bohanna surprises, that's great. If he ends up proving the zone correct, that's not ideal either.

I want them all to improve. I want them all to compete. I want all of them to make it a very difficult decision when it comes down to deciding which one to cut.

On one hand, I think there is a fat chance that McCarthy cuts Hill early on. Just to make an example out of someone for the other draft picks.

Then again, you spent a 2nd on him for a reason. So you may want to ride out the investment lest you risk losing on it.

It also makes sense for Watkins to be the odd man out. But I think they'll bring some experience in there to some degree.

It's because Ridgeway is better than Bohanna.

Go study their college tapes.

Plus, Bohanna did diddly last year with the Cowboys.

I would cut Hill before I cut Watkins. At least Watkins is productive and Hill has not shown anything.
Agreed. Watkins has as many career snaps as Osa, Gallimore, and Hill combined.

Like you said you can't be a progress stopper when the others haven't shown much. Watkins doesn't have high upside but reality is you NEED a consistent NFL level player on your roster, you can't just throw 4 random DTs with zero consistently (combination of not being NFL ready and injuries) and hope everything is smooth

Those same fans calling for Watkins to be cut will the be first ones to say the following if Hill or Gallimore struggle ("uhh galimore is obviously playing hurt, where's the fresh veteran body to help him out ?" or "reason why a veteran isn't playing instead of jag Hill is because Jerry wants to play him to justify spending a 2nd rounder on him")

I think if you are down to Bohanna and Hill, you likely have to keep Hill. The upside with him is greater than Bohanna. So you bank on the kid with the bigger upside, even if it's a long shot he'll develop.

But as said, if Hill just is a dog in camp, he's a prime candidate to be cut.

Hill is in the final year of his contract so if it’s close you keep Bohanna IMO but also it might just come down to style. I also think Golston needs to be on the list. He’s too big to be a pure edge and must be about 285lbs now.
